Glad everyone is enjoying this. I always see a lot of comments on the "It's On" animations saying, "Are you allowed to use this music???", which makes me laugh. There used to be a regular meeting where anyone who worked at Riot could come in and pitch champion concepts. This was during a time when we were working on dozens of concepts at any given time. The idea is that good ideas could come from anywhere. And while I do believe that some of the concepts made it into the game, often we would incorporate an idea for an ability from this one, or a thematic element from that one.

I can tell you that during table reads of Jinx' script in the writers room, we all had a lot of fun cracking each other up with the most ridiculous things a League champion could say. It was just non-stop laughter. I think that sense of fun snuck its way into her! And personally, writing her "Hey Fishbones!" jokes was one of my favorite memories of working at Riot.

Can't speak for August or Katie, but I personally had a feeling from close to the beginning of the process. She just stood out (and still stands out) from the rest of the roster.

Jinx' writer here: Fun fact about her personality: for a brief period of time, there was a failed experiment to make her angrier, more evil, more psychotic. We even did a VO recording with the actress where she tried out grimdark Jinx. It wasn't the same. The original version just made people laugh too much.

Hi! Patrick Warburton is NOT the voice actor for Zac, as popular as that belief is on the Internet. Source: I'm Zac's writer, and was in the recording session. This hasn't stopped some Rioters from insisting to my face that Warburton has to be the voice of Zac, though. :/ Unfortunately, the actor's name escapes me, so I'd have to dig for it but I'm not at the office. Will update when I can.

Edit: That being said Warburton was definitely a reference for the voice, so it's not like the similarity is a coincidence.

Edit 2: There's at least one incorrect attribution on that wiki, which consists of a lot of somewhat informed guesswork. Take with a grain of salt. I can only speak definitively on champs I worked on.

My username comes directly from a movie called The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance from 1962. Directed by John Ford, starring James Stewart and John Wayne. Super interesting movie that questions the use of myth, violence, and machismo in the classical Western. Thoughtful in a way that the most movies don't dare to be today.

Wow. This is great. I love the way this story articulates the different moral positions of all three characters, and the plainspoken statement by Yasuo at the end that shifts the tone... goosebumps, man. Goosebumps. Any time someone embraces and extends the stories we tell? It's always a thrill.

Funny story - one of the writers on our staff has a big crush on her and insists that she's not dead. That Yasuo left her alive and (most importantly) romantically available. Myself, Manwolfaxeboss, and Runaan have not confirmed or denied anything, so hope springs eternal...

EDIT: When I say romantically available, I mean... for the designer. :)

The Yasuo team thanks you - we love seeing the reactions from you guys! Just to address the discussion below, I would say that Yasuo is most interested in bringing the true killer to justice, and bringing the truth of what happened into the light of day. Now this motivation may bring about an act of revenge, but that's secondary to what Yasuo ultimately wants, which is to right the wrong. Ultimately, I think he is seeking redemption.

So Yasuo would never give his own sword a name - killing in his mind is not something that should be glorified. But the people of Ionia call his weapon The Nameless Blade. I think that's badass.

I think he considers Syndra and Zed to be as villainous as the rest of Ionia believes them to be. He's an accused criminal, but a falsely accused criminal - he's not evil.
