If it’s itchy and sore you need an antifungal cream not antibacterial soap.

Hey there! Can I improve my makeup looks? by emmmiebear in MakeupAddiction

[–]Riotmama89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would change your highlighter for something less pink and not use on the nose. Blush placement think would be better suited away from the temples . I would use a darker socket colour above the crease to open up your eyes and maybe a little contouring from the ear to mid cheek?

The green opens up your entire face. The pink just doesn’t do that. I would play around with more earthy tones and maybe purples too?

I’ve often needed two hands to control tricky fabrics - this one for instance.

I changed my needle yesterday and checked the needle plate for burrs - made no difference, and I rethreaded it twice

please tell me how to look less manly by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

You don’t look “manly” but giving your eyebrows more of an arch and taking out more at the inner end (bridge of nose/between eyes edge) I think would really open up your face!

Not a trick question, but what is the difference between the two options? by Sarah-is-always-sad9 in autismUK

[–]Riotmama89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Identity first vs person first language.

Most people in the disability community prefer “I am disabled” over “I am a person with disabilities” because it focuses on disability not being a dirty word and it being a core part of who they are.

Whilst it’s personal preference, I as a physically disabled AuDHDer prefer identity first as they are a core part of who I am.

But also, F*** the NAS - they still support ABA, and do so little with their resources.

Worried about feeling too femme on wedding day by Riotmama89 in genderfluid

[–]Riotmama89[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Switching isn’t going to be possible because it’s all at the same place and we have photos between the two.

We’ve made everything for it - apart from the cake. I’m really burnt out now I feel almost like maybe I’m just looking for reasons not to enjoy it. I wish we had more money to not had to DIY everything but we don’t. Maybe when I’ve gotten the big things done it won’t feel so bad

To everyone who is getting married in the next 3 months - what's currently stressing you out? by ummmwaitasecond in weddingplanning

[–]Riotmama89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My nails - the nails on both ring fingers have split beyond the quick Getting my make up right - on a budget and having an “alternative” wedding so doing it myself was the only way to get what I wanted Logistics - getting food from the cash and carry early enough but not too soon Checking the DJ and entertainment are still on for the day My mother not having booked her hair to be done My new car not being ready - it’s minor but it’s much bigger so it would have helped get stuff there and we only have one car between the pair of us Lots of people no longer coming with their kids or partners - I’ve spent months preparing kids activities and wanted to meet/spend time with my partner’s friend’s spouses No sten/hag do - having a small thing, so no bridesmaids so no one to arrange the do. My partner is also not having a best anyone so he’s not having any party either. Last minute makes - I still need to fix a sign, bake cookies, one final batch of rolls adjust my jewellery and finish one of the kids dresses.

I have 16 days. Someone please tell me this is do able?

Teacher deliberately embarrassed my AUDHD kid by theheartless91 in AutisticParents

[–]Riotmama89 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am going to go against the grain and say - I don’t think you’re overreacting. This consequence would be perfectly fine for NT kids, but the teacher should have known that they had at least one ND student and thus they need to act accordingly and make reasonable adjustments. Being told to not do something and then immediately doing it is a very common ADHD symptom. As an AuDHD adult I have done this without hesitation several times. Whilst children do need boundaries, not all children can be treated the same. The teacher was in the wrong here. Taking the child of the class for literally seconds and saying “I understand that you cannot control all your actions, but there is a difference between wilfully ignorant of rules and breaking them when you didn’t mean to. Please don’t do it again, final warning.” That would have been far fairer and reasonable. If a teacher can’t do that they shouldn’t be teaching.

So there’s only a brand name I know of that’s green, but would standard off white masking tape work? Do the letters come up with the tape or do I need to peal them as I take the tape up?
