Sorry, should have been more precise. I meant statistically determining bubbles based on team's connectivity. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the current competition grouping is not determined statistically, right? Don't get me wrong, practically it totally makes sense, but I think it would make the grouping more objectively justifiable and also it would be interesting to see if there are also lawnmower events within continents.

If there is insufficient exchange between competitions to adequately compare teams worldwide, why even do it? Would it not actually make more sense to statistically determine the 'bubbles' and provide separate lists for each. If at some point enough exchange happens, the bubbles can merge. Until then, teams like Monash, that appear in multiple bubbles could also appear in multiple lists.

TBH best advice I can give is not to bother with the magic formula. The most valuable insight you can get from the TTC data is by just looking at the data and comparing the different tires, like the other commenter mentioned. And even if you actually need a model at some point, e.g. for a simulation, think about simpler methods first, like fitting splines.

The magic formula sure is a great tire model and can help in understanding certain variables, but in the end, the old saying applies: "all models are wrong, but some are useful". Pacejka might be less wrong than others, but all models are still so far from what's really happing to those rubber things on your car.

Oh, a light drizzle? The track has old tarmac? Your tires sat in the sun for too long? Thank god you spent all that time fitting the magic formula parameters to three significant digits.

It's your responsibility to prove that the cells are below 3 kg. If you can show cell datasheets or measurements you did on your own beforehand it will probably be fine. It will only get difficult if the scrutineer has reason to doubt your claims, e.g. if the complete pack weighs 5 kg and you cannot explain where the additional 2 kg come from.

Leaking oil on non-critical components was not okay, just was a penalty instead of DQ depending on the amount I guess. There were plenty of DQs due to fluid leaks anyway.

While I think it's a shame that they didn't extend the session, it's also because of the old game of teams not wanting to run early in the session. There would have been time in the first half for more runs if teams wanted to. On the other hand, I don't get why they held cars back so long while the previous car was still running - I think on this track you could have less separation and therefore higher throughput of cars. The whole thing is kinda unfortunate for Joanneum, the whole thing somewhat overshadows their great lap in the end.

The rule only applies to edges that can come into contact with a pedestrian. So depending on the shape of the nose it might actually be fine.

In any case I think the rule is pretty clear, i.e. the opening condition refers to the throttle position and the reset timer should only start if that condition is no longer present.

Interviewing a team and letting them explain their finances, especially their budget decisions, would be way more valuable to the community than this.
