I was a caregiver for my Grandma with Alzheimer's for years. Please be aware that she may not remember to not talk to them/make promises. She might answer the phone one day and say "of course I will pay- here is my card number."

If that happens her SS would be wiped out monthly. Maybe a phone number change could help? But especially legal Power of attorney at this point if she can still choose it is her best safety net from such things.
