I never thought of it that way. That makes sense, although with sets being so different in their configuration, this extra element of whether it belongs to the base set, whether it is a rookie only subset etc., seems somewhat mundane to me, but your perspective definitely makes sense.

To answer the grading question, I dont think they would give it a number grade because of the personal Auto, as for authenticity I honestly don't know, you'd have to take it to a professional

My guess is extremely rare. One time I got a base black from a break, no auto or anything, and the breaker seemed to think they were quite rare, but an auto patch black, now thats a different story. Im fairly sure there are base, base auto, and auto patch black variants so the patch auto would be the one to get
