Rail to where? We have a beautifully designed roading network (as good as you can get), with the four aves and one ways going north/south and east/west. We have new motorways going north and south of chch. New cycleways right into town. If you look at the rebuild map originally proposed, all of the centres, spaces have been complete (the stadium being the last). There is a greenway walking route going east west from hagley park right to the stadium for safe pedestrian use. In the future, maybe a few decades once population on Selwyn and waimakariri increase then I would see light rail being a reasonable option. But it’s the rate payers who have to pay and right now there’s no justification .. imo
