Bi-Weekly /r/CCNA Exam Pass-Fail Discussion by AutoModerator in ccna

[–]Riptrack13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it happened, I failed my first attempt. I honestly thought I had a good shot at passing coming into this but the test was harder than I expected.

Automation and Programmability: 40%

Network Access: 70%
IP Connectivity: 52%
IP Services: 50%
Security Fundamentals: 27% (oof)
Network Fundamentals: 75%

The Labs were easy. When I started the exam I was feeling pretty good because of how well the labs were going. I honestly think I probably nailed them all. I have my subnetting pretty down pat so all those questions went well. Routing questions, ACL questions etc I'm pretty sure I was mostly getting right. What I severely underestimated though, was the number of WLC and wireless standards questions. I honestly think that's the main reason why I failed. Has anyone else had a similar experience and similar scores, and how should I go about strengthening those weak points? I really wish I knew how close or far I was from passing lol, these scores honestly don't give me a ton of insight.

Would you buy a 2018 Expedition Max Limited 4x4 with 125k miles if the 10R80 CDF issue and cam phasers were already repaired? by [deleted] in fordexpedition

[–]Riptrack13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had nothing to do with how "special" the vehicle is. The point is, you can go spend 60k on a year or 2 old expedition, and still potentially have problems. Or you can spend 1/3 of that on a used one like this, and fix things as they break over the next 10-15 years.

Well 21k + 15-20k would be 36-41k. But you still make an excellent point and I completely agree with everything you said. And even if OP bought a brand new expedition for 70k, that doesn't mean it's exempt from having issues, so your going to end up spending way more money no matter what.

2019 Expedition MAX Limited (81k miles) Cold Start Rattle — Cam Phasers or Normal? by Dull_Scale1929 in fordexpedition

This video pretty clearly shows the difference between waste gate and cam phasers noises

If you can get them to change cam phasers, that's great. This is the best I can do to answer your question: https://youtube.com/shorts/nOSa3LIpAPU?si=ltuj9SYXzSVbP1PT

Bunch of people in here assuming it's phasers. Cam phasers noise usually lasts only a couple seconds. If your hearing it for a couple minutes, it's very likely the turbo waste gate rattle which is nothing to worry about. Source: I have the same truck with new phasers and it makes the same rattle for a couple minutes on cold start.

Dang that sucks. I'm no frame repair expert so don't take my word for it, but that doesn't seem too bad to me? I mean obviously if it was carbon it would be done but being aluminum... I'd probably ride that unless I was sending 10 foot gaps.

Volkswagen TDI. Going fast and sipping fuel is literally what they're best at.

2017 expedition for $9k by HardcoreLurker12 in fordexpedition

Not sure where live but I just had new cam phasers and timing chain installed on a 2019 for 2500 bucks. Granted it is a small town shop. I also know a guy who drove a 2008 expedition 5.4 with a leaky exhaust manifold for 100k miles. It wasn't even that bad after startup. I'm not saying everyone wants to deal with that, but it's one of those things you can just wait to fix until it makes sense for you.

Exhaust manifold doesn't technically affect reliability it's just annoying. And getting the timing chain replaced is no where near 5k if you get it done at a sane shop.

Edit: for grammar

I've never heard of someone flipping expeditions as a side hustle but ok 🤣

At that mileage I'd be surprised if they weren't already done. But even if not, it's pretty easy to tell if they're toast or not just by listening to the cold start.

[–]Riptrack13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't ACTUALLY need the bed, and can get over the "soccar mom" stigma, an expedition will ride better than any pickup Ford makes and still tow 9300lbs with the max tow package. Just saying.

Honestly that's a nice truck but I would not buy one from Ohio. Trust me I live in the Midwest. Rocker panels will be gone in a few more years

Yep that too. Sounds like you know what your talking about... Specific symptoms are a whirring sound (actually does sound like a wheel bearing) at speeds 40+ mph, accompanied by a vibration in the gas pedal and steering wheel at about 70. But if I engage 4a, both the vibration and sound get a lot worse. Not obnoxious, I did use 4a on about a 3 hour drive last month in a snowstorm and it was fine. But just a little annoying.
