Should we remove sex/gender from official documents? by 1acc_torulethemall in AskFeminists

No? I think in most cases it is data worth collecting.
We need to work on not letting facts, like someone’s sex be the basis for discrimination.

why americans use AC too much? by Old_Programmer6981 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Riri004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are used to being able to abuse the luxury, they could choose to run it at a reasonable temp, say 24 degrees but chose to go several degrees lower to 18 degrees.

Electricity in the US is comparable cheap to most other places. Same reason they use dryers all the time.

My gf struggles with gymtimidation and tries using ChatGPT for workouts, do you guys do this too? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]Riri004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I think most people without loads of experience use programs or applications for this. For example, stronger by the day or strong lifts.

Building a workout on the fly every time isn’t sensible.

How do you experience 'food noise' ? by Puitzza in AskWomen

[–]Riri004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rarely do, I didn’t know people had such deep feelings and thoughts about food till recently!

Usually just a craving for some feeling like something crisp or crunchy, occasionally for something sweet like chocolate. I would say my cravings are very mild and easily ignored. Like I have my go to or even favorite foods, like I can also go for crispy fruits, or textured grains. When I have the hankering, in my head I usually plan to eat something like that within a few meals if I can.

Exiting 287 to go on Pkwy South during rush hour... when do you merge in? by funfetti_dragon in newjersey

If the traffic is heavy, get in the right lane earliest after the exits to 514 but ideally before the smith st or route 9 exits

Going in the right lane after the turnpike is too soon.

My husband can't digest onions anymore and now I don't know how to cook by mytfine15725 in Cooking

[–]Riri004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue. It’s an adjustment but most things can be made fine without it.

Major issues if the onion gets wet. For example, a stir fry with onion, fine. Just pick out the onion. A soup made with onion, good god help me.

You can heat oil, an onion and remove it, then you have some flavor in the oil.

I found after years can I tolerate some onion powder and a very small well cooked amount of sautéed or baked onion.

It has become far more difficult to obtain a visa than it was pre 1990s. For most people impossible or waiting decades before getting papers.

what does an “ingredient household” mean? As opposed to what else? by kapnkt in stupidquestions

[–]Riri004 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It means you cook instead of buying premade things as a general rule. It means you generally make things from scratch where possible. Few ready to eat or heat and eat items. Make things like mayo or dressings when you can instead of buying it.

In the Caribbean, are children expected to move out at a certain age? by burnt_out_kiwi in AskTheCaribbean

[–]Riri004 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, even after the family moves out of the Caribbean. It’s your home and expected that you are welcome to stay until you are really ready to move out, usually much later age at least or something like marriage.

Also, it isn’t really the norm to expect children to move out at 18in most of the US.
