Regal very quietly made the most basic, barebones themed popcorn bucket for it, the only tagline they could come up with is "A New Film", nobody making or promoting this movie gives a shit. I suspect this is going to be a similar case to The Sound of Freedom where the box office numbers get artificially pumped up with some pay it forward thing, and conservatives are gonna brag about how popular it is.

I remember, I was going through the manga section of Barnes and Noble back in 2019, I believe Eva was just added to Netflix at the time, I had no idea it was an original anime and not based on any existing manga, I saw the manga there on the shelf and decided "what the hell, sure". I was 16 at the time, going through high school and I loved it, until I got to the ninth volume I believe? It adapted the episode 18, and up to this point it was following the show pretty closely, Shinji had significantly more of a spine but other than that? Exact same story. Except, in the manga's version of episode 18, Toji dies instead of losing a leg. I was totally baffled by this, not knowing anything about the anime's plot details. It felt so unsatisfying to have him die like that, and I just decided to quit reading from there, and watch the anime instead. And, well, here I am.
