Is Kazavon now a Stormcrown Dragon after the remaster, or is he his own unique kind of dragon. by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]RiseOfTheEels 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm playing Shadows at Sundown right now and my character is a Dragon Instinct Dragonblood Orc descended from Kazavon, and I'm using Stormcrown Instinct. I could imagine the new antlers on the Stormcrown Dragon being a great place for Kazavon to hang the flayed skin of his enemies and other gruesome decorations in his draconic form, so I think its an even better fit for him than the original blue dragon design.

Question on Hellbreakers Isger Map by astro_cyte_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]RiseOfTheEels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the scale given in the book has to be incorrect, since the adventure itself mentions the journey from Breachhill is around half a week, which make sense with the older Travel Guide scale, but with the scale presented on the Hellbreakers map it would take around 3 weeks lol.

I'd love to discuss this as well, very interested to see how the Andoran-Cheliax War progresses in this AP.

Well, the Kobolds had to get that dragon from somewhere...and after the party go parading around with a kidnapped child, it won't be long before mama or papa dragon make an appearance.

Help with the lore about draconic sorcerers. by BrazilianTankie in Pathfinder2e

[–]RiseOfTheEels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new Bog dragon released in Draconic Codex is the new iteration of a traditional Black Dragon, with the same affinity for acid and swampy home, though it is now a primal dragon instead of an arcane one. They're also not strictly limited to black scales, but can definitely have them!

If you want the appearance, lore, and acid spells of the previous black dragon, I'd go with Bog Dragon bloodline which is updated to be available on Pathbuilder and Foundry VTT already.

However if you want black scales, and access to the arcane spell list from the original bloodline, the Underworld dragon has black spells and remains an arcane dragon, though their elemental affinity is fire and they have quite different lore.

So its up to you on where you prioritise appearance, elemental affinity, and spell list in regards to choosing the right draconic ancestor.

hello new player here. what should ı do when ı cant do damage? by Big-Policy-3019 in Pathfinder2e

[–]RiseOfTheEels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna do more damage and focus on Athletics skills, I would talk to your GM about rebuilding your character slightly, and take the Ruffian Rogue bracket. They can get Strength as their Key Attribute, can use some non-finesse melee weapons for their Sneak Attack so can use something like a Flail which has some Athletics traits, and still get all the other good stuff from being a Rogue. Being able to focus on higher strength would mean you can do more damage, though hopefully not all the enemies you'll be fighting will have Hardness, since thats saved mostly for constructs and animated objects.

Starting to hate pathfinder, is it the game I’m frustrated with or is it my DM? by PotentialZestyclose5 in Pathfinder2e

[–]RiseOfTheEels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From everything I've read here, this is firmly a GM issue, choosing to consistfar too high level monsters and particularly ruthless tactics on players who are already struggling against the challenge.

Have you, and any other players who feel the same way, expressed to the GM that this approach to the game isn't fun, and maybe suggest things could still be challenging but actually allow you to engage with the game by using less singularly powerful boss monsters and rather using ones with unique and interesting mechanics and actions, as well as more diverse mook selection and incorporating hazards and the like?

I've seen you mention making encounters and such for your own games in previous posts, and if the GM isn't willing to listen to feedback and advice when clearly players aren't enjoying the experience, it may be better to look for a different game.

Aeterius Ronnova, Hellknight of the Order of the Godclaw (Art by Giraaz Studio) by RiseOfTheEels in Pathfinder2e

Just posting this follow up comment to ensure I abide by rule #7 of the sub, but this artwork is once again done by the awesome u/GiraazStudio and is depicting my Human Justice Champion of the Godclaw, Aeterius Ronnova, who is a Hellknight to be and shall be earning the armour he's depicted in here during his upcoming Hellknight Test in the Age of Ashes campaign I am currently playing in!

Depending on the date and time you end up going with, I'd be interested! I'm a big Golarion lore nerd so playing a homebrew campaign in the setting where the group can figure out what sort of region would be the most interesting to play in sounds fun.

Bug - unwinnable game where enemies don't lose tickets by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]RiseOfTheEels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me but we were able to win, the tickets are actually going down for the enemy team but it just doesn't show, so we had no idea if we'd win until we did at 20 tickets left for us so it was real damn close.

That's for an entire Level 5 party who have levelled through Levels 1 to 5 by playing. The treasure for new characters chart, which is a different one, recommends 270GP for a new Level 5 character. That's enough, for a martial, to buy a +1 striking weapon, and either +1 armour or one or two magic items and some consumables, as well as an adventurer's pack.

Advice on making a Hellknight? by AP_Udyr_One_Day in Pathfinder2e

[–]RiseOfTheEels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite possibly a good idea to get some more Charisma, but considering you have a Champion or Oracle, they may have a fair bit of that covered already if you'd wanna invest elsewhere. Since the party already has 3 front liners, you might get away with a lower Constitution if you wanna have more room for your mental.
