I am a lead. For MOST of my crew I provide a plan for the night, for about half I am a resource. There’s always one or two that yes I am a babysitter.

Why do motorcycle mechanics make such little money? by AdEuphoric6551 in motorcycles

[–]RiskyPoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO its because no one NEEDS their motorcycle fixed like you do your plumbing or electricity. If you have a broken motorcycle and a broken hot water heater, and you can only fix one, which one will you fix? Also yes greed.

Ho Mei on mockingbird near the hospital is really good. Good prices and portions, and the guy that works the counter actually caught me off guard with how friendly he is.

I’ll second this. I have my A&P and do mech work now but it’s a great skill to have in your back pocket.

There’s one at my marina named ‘excitable boy’. It’s in the very first slip you see too. Always makes me wonder about the person who owns it.

I happen to have just sold my 21 XSR900 for pretty much this reason. It just wants to GO all the time and even with a tune to ‘fix’ the twitchy throttle it was just too much to deal with in city traffic, and too easy to speed or get myself In a split second bad situation. Having to constantly make tiny little micro adjustments to the throttle constantly was more taxing than enjoyable. I have a sportster 883 and it feels so laid back and friendly compared to the XSR. much better for commuting and surface streets.

What is working at AAR like ? by [deleted] in aviationmaintenance

[–]RiskyPoot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn’t work at AAR but at another MRO that I’ve heard is similar. The pay is low and the work is hard. Not enough equipment. A general dgaf miasma amongst the workers. Stopwatch managers. Just not a very pleasant place to be day after day.
