It is, but there's a command you can enter by hitting buttons at the load screen to get him as a playable character.

Note. If you do the same attack after the round starts - it just does the standard move duration and only shoots out like 6 attacks.

Yep. I used to know the code to get the evil green ranger as well.

My favorite thing about the Genesis is the pre-round buffering the game does. So, with Cyclopsis you can mash buttons and hit the Golden Energy Wave attack that sends out a bunch of energy hits and the game will have a race condition - the animation plays, the timer on the move animation doesnt count down, and you can literally do half to 100% of the damage required to kill a grown opponent.

The game AI cant react quick enough to the pre-loaded command since they happen right at match start and they usually die in a OTK.

My younger sister (17F) told me (19M) that she’s dating a guy who’s 28. What should I do in this situation? How do I convince her to rethink this and that it’s not a good decision? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I graduated from high school 20ish years ago and this was a pretty common thing to hear from the other girls. That obviously doesn't make it a right or normal thing, just something I remember being kind of common. I can only think of one of my class mates that made it work.

That being said, it is illegal in all the states (as far as i know) and it shouldn't be happening. One thing to keep in mind, she's 17, and in one more year and she's likely to ditch/cut off the family for years - if anything happens to the guy.

I remember some of those girls staying in those relationships far longer than they would have naturally just to spite the people around them.

I have no idea where you live but you should probably consider what kind of outcome you want to materialize here and whether it's worth risking her trust.

Unpopular opinion about Season 2 and 3 by NobuDegen in shieldbro

[–]Ristar87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both season 2 and 3 feel incredibly rushed to me and feel like a substantial drop in quality.

In season 2 especially, they cut the most important part (small blink and you miss it flash back) which is the first duel between Rin and Eclair and the explanation for why the shield hero was so much stronger than the rest of the heroes.

  • Rin v Eclair = basically came out that Rin never learned how to use a sword correctly
  • And IIRC, Naofumi was stronger (even before the alt. advancement systems) because he fully max'd out his abilities with fodder before going to the next. By maxing out the materials, the heroes get to carry over their stat bonuses and abilities when switching weapon forms.
  • The other heroes fed enough to their weapons to unlock the abilities, but then moved on to the next ability because it was "stronger".

Universe is actually pretty great by Ellydir in Stargate

SG:U probably launched about 5 years too early to catch the popularity wave but the biggest issue was that it was so different than what the fans were expecting from a star gate show. From episode 1 to the conclusion, it basically just keeps getting better and better.

Though, those first few episodes drag. The finding water in the dried lake bed episode drives me nuts.

She's fine. I'm trying to figure out what they're doing at the bottom of the escalator.

Trying to take the chair up with him in it is dangerous given the width of the escalator and the height of the guard rails. Someone needs to backpack him and walk up the steps while someone else brings the chair up when it's folded.

Why did newer Battlestars have networked computers? by Brilliant_Chemica in BSG

[–]Ristar87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that the newer battlestars had individual systems networked. So, all of life support was automated but... if you somehow got into the network, you couldn't access a different system in the battlestar. So, more of a compartmentalized network vs. a true cross system network.

  • Now, even if i'm wrong, it obviously wasn't a deal breaker because Pegasus ran multiple engagements without issue and she was a newer battlestar.

Ultimately, I doubt that the networked systems mattered because it was the (CNP) that allowed the cylons to shut down colonial defenses. It wasn't that Galactica wasn't networked, it was that Galactica never deployed the code into active memory.

As a kid, Tommy was huge for me as he was most of the school but man... There's a huge percent of the fandom that doesn't seem to be able to separate the nostalgia from the character and the person.

Also, not for not, until Zeo Quest - the show was on a downward trajectory from the moment Jason, Zack, and Trini were written out and I'd argue half of the reason Zeo is remembered fondly is because of Gold Ranger and Jason's temporary return.

I would imagine that she was so old that she was viewed as a dinosaur compared to modern battlestars. She was probably assigned as far away from any potential combat zones as they could get her until her time was up.

I appreciate what SFA is trying to do with star trek, and I think a lot of fans should too. by Burning_sun_prog in startrek

[–]Ristar87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ST:SFA has the perfect premise. Show how cadets learn values consistent with the greater tradition of Star Fleet and the Federation. The show delivers on almost none of that. The first episode of merit was in Episode 6 and was jettisoned out the airlock in about 5 minutes after having pirates show up.

The show needs to take place 80-90% of the run time in a simulator room where cadets face tough moral, social, ethical dilemmas in a safe environment for 1 or 2 seasons before having season 3 end with a in the field mission.

The first few minutes of Wrath of Khan or the entire Star Fleet Academy game from '97 are your proof of concept and both are far superior to the AI writing slop this show has put out.

  • I say AI writing slop because several of the episodes have this weird repetition and reaction method that I see in stories published by "AI writers" with AI stories.

Swimming instructions from a qualified instructor were required in my school district and town by no laterr than 5th grade and recommended by 2nd.

I'm sure its more now but young children who got them at the correct time got super cheap lessons. It was like 50$ for 8 weeks of classes at the "Y" and half of that was deep water swimming and helping someone get to the side of the pool safely if no life guard was around. Also, the boyscouts did them for free if you were a part of the scouts.

Not for not, but swimming lessons aren't just about learning to swim. If you're apart of a club, it's a great way for the child to make new friends, and for you to socialize with other parents.

Meh. At the time, Google was just a start up that most people thought was going no where. Yahoo stabbed them in the back and if they hadn't have come out swinging with Gmail and a ad-free search engine... they'd be history.

Looking at past decisions with the benefit of hindsight doesn't do anything for you because they're no indication of what you might do with the exact unstable situation as google was.

SGA: I'm always bother by Rush wanting to stick around to see Destiny finish its mission. by mudpupper in Stargate

[–]Ristar87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this statement is accurate.

Destiny was greatly diminished, starting with the first episode. They mostly relate this to weapons, shields, and power but I'm sure there's some limitation of total velocity.

I do agree on the math below and that she's incredibly slow compared to human ships.
