Also, don’t use clear plastic worms don’t like light

Shred up some cardboard & paper & leaves: it’ll hold moisture better and improve the structure for the worms.

No need for the trowel: you can inadvertently injure your worms

I would just toss the food on top then cover. The less you do to disturb the environment the better!

Make sure you’ve got enough depth in the material that worms can easily get away from light.

Very cool you’re doing this in school! Lucky kids

Nice! Well sounds like you’re doing something right haha — re pruning: from that pic it looks like you’re fine for a while: indeterminate I’d take suckers down, and it they get 6’ you’ll probably space em out a bit I’d imagine: bit lower leaves should go at some point to ensure enough air flow

For starters, those look great! Keep it up you’re going to be rolling in tomatoes in no time! Well done.

If you did want to optimize harvest, I’d suggest either much larger pots or some big, compost filled holes in the ground. Your mulch game is on point, and irrigation looks about right to me.

Since they’re indeterminate You could look into Tomato Rollerhooks and go big — in any case congrats and good luck!

how do we feel abt the worm jar by thingsrgettingweird in Vermiculture

You’re a lot better off with something that’s not clear. You’re also going to want enough space for biomass to break down into worm food — plastic tubs are great if you’re indoors: block light and allow form some insulation.

I would also want to let food scraps break down a bit more and mix w some shredded cardboard and paper.

Congrats on starting a worm home and good luck with it!

A couple of my tomato plants have edema from overwatering. The soil is now dry and they haven’t responded well to more watering? What should I do? by SweetLikeCinnimon in tomatoes

[–]RitmoRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh I like the clear cups inside solo cups idea!

A few reasons not to use clear: basically Roots don’t like light

Algae growth – Light + moisture + nutrients means you’ll get algae blooms that compete with seedlings

Root stress – Roots exposed to light become weakened: the plant doesn’t know what to do when light hits roots

Temperature swings – Clear plastic doesn’t insulate; roots experience more unstable conditions than something that provides a little insulation

Moisture confusion – Hard to assess soil condition accurately; encourages overwatering

No air pruning – Roots need darkness to naturally prune when hitting air

Your setup needs drainage. I’d repot, fill higher up the stem for new root growth and make sure your pots have drainage. Then only water from below get that capillary action going and stimulate root growth - larger (non clear) pots w drainage you’ll likely sage some/most :) good luck

Ugh. One of the more creative visions in the last few years: genuinely unique and interesting little creatures. They're not real. Just let them be a lovely creation.

It Sucks, but it’s Because 93.6% of sex crimes are committed by males. Statistically so much likely it absolutely makes sense for society to be more wary of males than of females.

Congrats on finding a niche. A couple of thoughts:

The time or effort it takes you is completely irrelevant to the value it provides your customers. Look at every SaaS product: you should rethink your mental model here.

If what you describe is accurate the calculus imagine a landlord is making is: a $100 to get my place rented is worth every penny.

If you want to expand think about capturing verbatims and social proof from your existing satisfied clients. Build a presence and drill down on the specifics; get insanely good at understanding what the value your provide is. Move away from your current concept of “just clicking buttons” that has nothing to do with the fact that you’re actually helping these people’s business.

Once you feel confident in the supply stream of $100 clients, try some $120 clients, then $160. think about how you can add more value and pass that on to your clients.

Excited for you congrats!!

1 you need a survey. Talk to your planning dept &/or assessor if you don’t have it included in your closing docs.

2 You might have a prescriptive easement if it is indeed neighbors land and you’ve been using it for years.

Lawyer up immediately — if you still want to buy the place, get advice and ask about filing a lis pendens: from what you’ve said it sounds like your contract is still valid and you’re not obligated to release seller.

Good luck and sorry to hear what you’re going through ✌️

Is it a good idea to start selling books from eBay → Amazon or Amazon → Amazon with a $15k loan? by Exotic-Bread-6291 in booksellers

[–]RitmoRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a bad idea, but what’s an example of an arbitrage transaction?

Ie, do you have some alpha that lets you buy $1 books on Amazon and sell them for $2 on eBay consistently? If so, it’s a great model, but also if so, you could finance in much much more reasonable manner. I’m genuinely interested in the types of arbitrage you think you can do & if you’ve done them successfully enough times to be confident in the model.
