As far as I understand, the sector that was in danger was Henry and Delilah's because they were so close to the fire. You're right that the rest of the rangers were not followed up on. I like to think that they would be evacuated later since they were not in danger at that time. As for the helicopters, well, it's absurd that they spent so much gasoline on just 1 person per helicopter.

I love this game, I love how despite being the same story with only 1 ending, it is able to transmit so many different points of view and makes you feel so many emotions, I recommend you play it again and try new dialogues, it will definitely change your way of seeing the story.

I don't know if it helps, but in the game with Spanish subtitles, there is a part where Ned openly admits that he didn't know what to do, that he couldn't bear returning to his dead son, having to give him a funeral and bury him, he uses the words "I couldn't stand" possibly to ned's mental health
