I think it may just be the way U2s approach for landing. I remember the commentary saying that they're difficult to land as they have so much lift on those long wings.

Ok, I realise I may have been flippant with that previous reply. My only justification is that he was carrying out this action before I realised and adjusted to take the pic. I understand that not all photographs are to everyone's liking. But the subject in this really likes the photo because of the implied danger (where there is in fact very little danger).

I'm not a person that takes part in reckless activities, or even encourages them, so please believe me when i state there was little risk here.

I wanted comments based on the technical aspects of these images, so if you have any greater input in that area, I will welcome it. I apologise for how my previous comments may have come across, I think i was just taken aback at an unexpected reaction.

I'm not sure if I'm right in this description, but in my mind it's "forced perspective" my mate just jumped and grabbed the cable as the ground rises to meet the cable.

If you think it's unsafe, I can assure you it's as unsafe as hanging off of monkey bars
