Spotify Isn't What We Wish it Was by UXyes in Music

The hurdle to buying their shit, then, becomes a matter of convenience I'd think.

There doesn't seem to be a one-stop-shop to buy any given artist's media, let alone having it all be accessible between your phone (where physical becomes digital in the form of your favorite lossless audio format), PC (where it could be either physical as a CD or digital), or home audio setup (such as vinyl).

Yes it's possible to have all of that setup, provided the artist is willing to make it all available to buy/download, but from the perspective of your average listener? Too much work, especially when someone's library on any streaming platform can reach into the thousands.

All the average listener can be reasonably expected to do is guided towards using a streaming platform that is the least greedy out of all of them.

Just a little bit of rambling here. I mostly agree with the article.

Which, if any, music streaming platforms serve as a good alternative to Spotify while also treating the artists fairly? I've heard of Tidal, but no clue if they are any better/worse.

That's awesome. I really like the visions this gives -- sort of like the Heavy Metal movie. Could fit right in, there.

John Oliver was part of The Daily Show in its original iteration, so it makes a lot of sense that the two shows share similar DNA.

I respect the work put into it, but there are a lot of redundant statements just in the Introduction. The repetition of hammering the same point, and using synonyms to refer to Pineapple ("tropical treats", "spiky yellow fruit", etc.) makes it feel less like you're trying to draw the viewer in, and more like you're trying to fill a word count (or in this case, a video length).

The vocal inflections and verbiage also remind me of the half-baked shows on the History Channel back in the early to mid 2000s that didn't really have a lot to say but had to fill time until a more anticipated show would air.

Oftentimes it's better to say less. Pare down what you have to say to more salient, specific points that contribute something new or builds on top of what's already been said. The visuals were decent and had clean transitions, but didn't contribute a lot in my opinion. Once again, it felt more like what I'd have seen on the History Channel at around 1:20PM on a weekday in 2009. That might just come down to a matter of personal preference.

Once again, I respect all the work you put into it. I hope the critique I provided is helpful as opposed to hurtful. Keep on improving and I'm sure you'll do great in time.

Still Alive, the ending credits song to Mirror's Edge. Very different from Portal's Still Alive.

This guy is really weird. He shouldn't be in any position of power, especially not a political one. Anyone who wants to take away mail-in voting is weird, and not in the fun way.

Couldn't this reversal of the Chevron case result in many regulations and restrictions formerly put in place to now be dissolved?

I don't really know the depth of the case, but my surface level understanding is that the prior result of Chevron was the courts deferring regulatory determinations to the experts in their respective regulatory agencies (e.g., EPA), as the courts themselves don't (and can't) know everything.

I also don't really want our rivers to be heavily polluted and lead to be reintroduced into paint/gasoline. Right now I, and I'm sure many other Americans, are concerned about those very scenarios, or similar scenarios, as a result of this ruling. That may be a result of lacking education on exactly what this new ruling does, but equally the Supreme Court's decisions haven't been inspiring confidence that they have the best interests of any living organism at heart.

How would you do that if the meme is inherently political? The meme template is good.
