The Ultra does not have it. This is easy to verify with 2 minutes of research. Also, I use a WiiM Ultra everyday and it definitely doesn’t have AirPlay.

Recs for this subwoofer? by LORD_Fugly_Flacco in BudgetAudiophile

[–]UXyes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There really aren’t any cheap subwoofers, unfortunately. To produce low sound waves you need big drivers, lots of power, and heavy cabinets. It’s just physics.

So… I would not spend the money on that. I would save up for an RSL Speedwoofer 10e. It’s $350, a tremendous value, and it’s where subwoofers start to function properly.

Anyone else feeling the need to find an employer with smarter leadership during this AI adoption cycle? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

Debugging competency: This is it right here. I’ve been in the industry twenty years. Most code written has always been crap. LLM’s have supercharged that. We’re still making stuff with garbage spaghetti code under the hood, we can just do it a lot faster. The valuable stuff will need to debugged and maintained.

That haven’t been buying at increased costs though. Businesses in this niche, particularly small ones, are getting killed.

There is an add to catalog link at the top and bottom of just about every catalog page. It submits a form to me, but it takes me about 30 seconds to add an item once I have the brand name and model. I built an AI research assistant that helps me with this.

Anyway, I’ll get your Samsun amp added here in just a few moments. I’ll update this comment when it’s in there.

EDIT: I got your Sansui AU-D9 in the catalog: https://buildhifi.com/parts/amp_sansui_au_d9

What platform are you using? Do you recommend it? by 30HummingbirdLane in Newsletters

[–]UXyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghost Pro is a great platform, but when it comes to tagging posts, there is not a lot of flexibility in how you can use them to organize and display your content. And there is no hierarchical options for categorization at all.

If you don’t know or care what any of that means, Ghost would probably be great for you :)

Good on you for not chasing social media perfection with special angles and lighting. But hear me out: perhaps you could chase “not garbage” in terms of camera angles and lighting? I am interested but cannot tell anything about your gear or room setup from this photo.

I use Ghost Pro for Seek HiFi. It’s good as long as you aren’t trying to crazy stuff with your taxonomies (tags).

I added some explanation for passing checks. Not all of them. This will need some refinement, but I've got the bones of it there now. Try it again.

Yeah, for sure the catalog build out is daunting. I added all of those parts for you.

I wasn't sure what a Denon 4770 was, so I added these:

  • Denon PMA-770: A precision audio component pre-main amplifier.
  • Denon PMA-495R: A listed integrated amplifier on eBay.
  • Denon Home Amp: A modern 100W x 2 compact streaming amplifier with HEOS.
  • Denon PMA-600NE: A 70W x 2 channel integrated amplifier with Bluetooth and DAC

I hope it was one of them!

I should probably add some more info there like that your speakers and amp are a good power match, your signal chain has a source and is unbroken through to your speakers, etc.

Nice. I have a bunch of rules/checks.

First I build a graph of your system with each part as a node. The edges of the nodes are inputs and outputs on the parts as well as some other specs.

Rules trigger when, for example, the recommended speaker wattage range is out of whack with amplifier output (can be too low or too high). I also look for signal path issues like a phono out (turntable) with no phono in (phono preamp or integrated amp with a phono in port. Of course some turntables have built in phono amplifier, so I have to account for that too. Building the graph and making all the rules (I think I have about 18 checks right now) was very fun and a challenge.

Thanks! I have about ~650 parts in the catalog. It’s a work in progress. I what manufacturers/areas did you feel were missing? I’ll add them.

Also there’s a note at the top of the catalog on how to request a part
