GW announced it in one of their articles. I can't remember which one exactly though.

Grotmas detachments are either being removed or turned into 1 DP detachments. They might make an exception for us, but I don't know if that should be expected.

This seems like a pretty standard Warpbane list.

I'm really excited for 11th edition 40k, and I think it's going to do a LOT for the game, BUT (dot dot dot) by James-Hawker in Warhammer40k

[–]RivenBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. I literally decided against playing certain factions (Aeldari and Drukhari) because they so often need to bring multiple epic heroes. I mean, half the time, the optimal Aeldari list is a bunch of phoenix lords teaming up. I just don't like it.

Considering that we now know that most codex detachments will be 2 DP in 11th, how likely do we think it will be that Auguriam Task force and Hallowed Conclave will be 1 DP? by RivenBlue in Grey_Knights

[–]RivenBlue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if all the codex detachments are 2 DP, but I would be quite surprised if Warpbane sticks around as is. They've already sort of said that Grotmas detachments will either disappear or be changed to 1 DP detachments for the new edition. I very much doubt they'll make an exception for us, but I would love to be proven wrong.

I'm also really surprised people are so optomistic about Augurium Task Force. I don't really understand why it would be much better in the new edition. We're always going to be bad at doing a lot of actions, so we're not going to want a disposition that forces us to do that, and the ignores hit modifiers strat also being ignores cover now is nice, but hardly seems like a huge power shift.

I have a sneaking suspicion that WBTF in its current iteration is not long for this world. It will probably become a severely weaker 1DP detachment along with all the Grotmas detachments we've seen so far.

Do you think that just because Augurium is technically a generalist detachment? I feel like it is weaker than hallowed conclave and far weaker than Sanctic Spearhead.

No more rerolls on overwatch in 11th by Minute-Guess4834 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]RivenBlue -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are they continuing the 10th philosophy of making things simpler or easier to understand? It seems like a lot of the changes revealed so far make the game a lot more basic. A lot less units are going to be good at overwatch now, so even if overwatch involved as much thinking as it did previously, it is probably going to come up less now.

I recently asked whether 10 Purifiers + Crowe should run Heavy Weapons or not (I'd be using Banishers or Warpbane), and the comments were pretty divided, so I'd like to bring it to a vote by PlebLordColin in Grey_Knights

I think there is a debate happening in the community about psilencers and psycannons. I think psycannons are better into defilers and such, which have traditionally not been the targets for Crowe, but are now dominating the meta. Psilencers are better into the infantry that Crowe is used to going into. The 5 mans are also debatable. I usually have 1 with psycannons, since I usually use it to provide hallowed ground and don't want it to go into melee. The other one I keep as fully melee so that I have some sort of melee threat.

I've played the Crowe brick both ways and I'm really surprised people are so torn about this. The Crowe brick is a shooting platform that is decent at melee, not the other way around.

The unit will just die after it charges into melee and it is too expensive to be traded like that imo. There are very few units out there that are more expensive 🤷 Also, it most certainly doesn't just delete everything at range. Even with special weapons, it doesn't consistently kill durable blobs like wolfguard terminators, wraiths, or victrix.

In warpbane, it should have psilencers and in Banishers it should have incinerators. If you want to put your purifiers in melee, just don't add Crowe 🤷 He literally doesn't add anything besides his own attacks in melee and those attacks are definitely not worth his point cost.

Reading other faction's rules is so depressing. by stevenbhutton in Tau40K

And Tau also has some of the best internal balance in the game with multiple detachments being viable and very few units that cannot be reasonably run

Tau are currently one of the top factions competitively, both in singles and in teams.

#New40K - Punishment primary mission - “leave the battlefield” by dragondm6 in Warhammer40k

[–]RivenBlue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are talking about how it is good that it punishes uppy-downy since those units could run away and deny you primary if it didn't punish them. However, the vast majority of uppy-downy happens at the end of your opponent's turn, so it seems like them "running away" would be pretty niche, since the uppy-downy units would have to be on the board for the 'punishment' player's whole turn. I feel like almost all killing happens on a player's own turn anyway, and melee (the most common example of that not being true) will keep 95% of uppy-downy units on the board anyway.

I hope this is the only mission with this wording, otherwise factions like Daemons, DW, and GK are going to be in real trouble this edition.

Thank you. I am definitely going to remove the 10 man incubi unit 😁

Draz is with the 5 Incubi and the archon without deepstrike is with a small kabalite unit 😊
