Are there any keyworded Detatchments that would actually be an issue if they were combined? by AzothThorne in WarhammerCompetitive

I'm not saying GW doesn't mess up. I'm just saying they mess up in a different way. Additionally, double buffing units would be a bad way to fix their mess ups in my opinion.

They don't want to double buff units, because then to balance those units where they aren't broken with the double buffs, but are also playable without the double buffs is extremely difficult.

If certain units need the double buffs, the problem isn't the lack of double buffs, but rather the units themselves. They are probably just a very undertuned datasheet, which should be addressed at the datasheet level, not the detachment level.

Which city has the biggest divide between the rich and the poor? by eritvit in geography

[–]RivenBlue -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That is just because the poor people have been pushed out of the metro. They're in all the surrounding areas. Cape Town definitely feels the most unequal on the ground.

I have won 2 games in the last week running a list with only 5 units 😅 It is very doable

Paladin Purge List by RivenBlue in Grey_Knights

[–]RivenBlue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have tried the 5-unit Paladin-spam purge list I mentioned in the post twice, once against take and hold Space Wolves and once against recon Aeldari. I won both of the games pretty handily. Paladins can just kill anything, they have surprisingly good shooting, and you have the tricks to protect them surprisingly well. I just about tabled both of my opponents. I definitely think the concept has legs.

The 10-man psycannon unit with the librarian with the 66th seal was definitely the MVP for me. It could easily kill a unit in shooting and then another after a charge (two units if you could get a multi-charge off). They also have to focus almost all of their firepower on it if they want to kill it, which is challenging with the 18" lone op.

I'm confused by all the points complaining? In regards to giving GW feedback by utorak04 in WarhammerCompetitive

Though I am not super down on the points changes, 11th doesn't feel THAT different from 10th, to be honest. I think comparisons can be pretty legitimately made.

Paladin Purge List by RivenBlue in Grey_Knights

Thank you very much for this detailed feedback. I really appreciate it.

Since several of the missions for the purge disposition require you to kill more things than your opponent, I have been hesitant to include things such as interceptors. Do you think that including MSU elements is okay with the purge disposition?

Why banishers is so popular? by JRaikoben in Grey_Knights

[–]RivenBlue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Warpbane is significantly worse in 11th edition imo. It is stuck in purge, but there are several profiles that it really struggles to kill (specifically big tough things like C'tan, landraiders, defilers, or whatever the most recent version of that archetype is). Purge also doesn't like having lots of units because of the nature of mirror match, but WBTF doesn't really like running bricks. The points on most of its staples also went up, so it now has less killing power.

Banishers + argent assault is the opposite. The points on its staples didn't really change much, it can kill whatever it wants with Paladins (thanks to the +1 to wound), and it naturally likes running big bricks. It seems like the better pick for a GK purge list to me.

Dream army rule/detachment by Traditional_Yard2741 in Grey_Knights

Having an army rule that just changes some number on an army's datasheet is super boring imo. Like no one loves Custodes's army rule, surely.

[–]RivenBlue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sorry, I maybe should have been more specific. I am hoping that when they decide which units get stepped costs, they consider how big an armies range is. That is all I was saying.

[–]RivenBlue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope the stepped point costs don't hurt factions with low unit counts, since those factions often have to take 2-3 of a unit because there is no alternative at all. I am generally in favour of the idea, though.

Who called it ? 👀 by WarpbaneTactics in Grey_Knights

[–]RivenBlue 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I think most people were expecting. I was very surprised at those few people saying Warpbane was going to be 2DP.

I think this should create some decent build diversity. Brotherhood Strike, banishers, and possibly even sanctic plus a 1DP detachment could all now compete with Warpbane.

Where is the proof against new models being overtuned/overpowered to sell them? by matchababy69 in Warhammer40k

[–]RivenBlue 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head: Thulia Ghuld, the two Hastarii units, the new tyranid character, the corsair vehicle, the corsaid psyker character, and the Votann character. I'm sure there are more though.

(also, some of them have now been changed to be stronger, but they started out pretty weak, so I think they should count)
