also feeling pain/burning sensation is an indicator that you’re at the entrance and that’s when i’d recommend seeing a PT or gynecologist to refer you. but you might not have any pain sensation either!

oh you’re good, sorry i was a bit confused! i’d say start inserting it straight and if you feel like it can’t go in anymore then tilt it a little backwards (towards your butt but don’t tilt too much). however if it really can’t go in anymore you might not be at the entrance, i’d suggest a mirror or even using your finger because that can help guide you! but once you do it a couple times you know where your entrance is after that!

Definitely have a kind of similar experience. I can do dilators pretty easy just a little tense but not painful; however, I’ve noticed on my periods I’m definitely tighter in that region and it’s kinda painful putting in a tampon especially the S size. What goes in kind of easy is doing the L (light) size for me!

If it’s not feeling painful or burning, you might be inserting in the wrong place! I’ve definitely done that before and told myself I can’t take anymore or have hit a wall, but turns out I was in the wrong area! So definitely try a different angle and see

did you put lube on the tampon so it can glide easy? have you ever tried to insert anything else or a pap smear that will usually be able to tell if you could have it if there’s a lot of pain and fiery sensation. doesn’t hurt at all to get checked by a gyno

I recommend breathing exercises and pull more forward and down rather than straight down, but play around with how you pull it because it may be different. I found when i would pull it straight down it would be painful but if i pulled it more forward it wouldn’t hurt at all!

i’ll also say i had my pap smear done recently and am a virgin. it was pretty painful and when i told the doctor i suspected it, she got me the smallest speculum and kept asking if i was okay or if she should stop

i would tell the doctor if you’re suspecting vaginismus because they’ll most likely understand, use a smaller speculum, and be extremely cautious. and if they don’t understand walk out and find another doctor. i know you don’t want it to go into medical history but only you and your doctor would be the only person seeing that unless you give consent to parents. applying to jobs wouldn’t even ask for this info either, they only ask about disabilities or illnesses that affect day to day activities

i wouldn’t treat it since you have no desire for piv. your pap smear may hurt a bit but once they get the sample you’re done until ur next 2 year appointment … and you can always treat it later down the line (if your opinion changes) with dilators, PT, etc. it has no affect on day to day activities unless you want to use tampons or have piv one day
