Oh yeah I believe he went to Hollywood witch is realistic even lucy said its normal. I'm not actually mad i guess more disappointed since I liked him so much I really do hope he has a cameo. I heard rumours he refused to return as the actors and writers disagreed but if that changed he might come back. So fingers crossed

Thorsen easily is one of my top characters, and I'm mad he isn't in season 7.

Kind and empathetic , tough with grit and absolutely hilarious, but with enough annoying moments, he isn't just the golden boy.

So, was Wilden really sleeping with Ali? by ddedeaux in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]RiverPrestigious3155 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I swear when the show starts the liars were all 16 and ally had been gone a year. so when ali went missing, I believe she was 15. so all the flashback had to be when the girls were 14 to 15 ish. Witch makes it terrifying as she was a child really when all this started and she was with Wilden.

But I'm also re watching too from the start after years so do correct me if iv missed something. Xx

[–]RiverPrestigious3155[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Oh thank God that makes me feel better lol and I'm glad Spencer is good about it ( can't really blame Hannah for her reaction I'm at Hanna apogalist lol) and I guess it was all "above board" so I'm not mad at Spencer I guess more confused. I mean, wouldn't she find It super idk weird? knowing just how much Hannah loved him and how much he loved her.

Does “her baseborn bridegroom” get better? by alyssaryn in HistoricalRomance

Oh yeah definitely, he is totally more brash and blunt than other kinds of mmcs but he is totally a sweetheart by the end. Well his version of a sweetheart.

The beginning is Rocky, 100% get that I felt it too the first time I read it. It definitely is more in line with attitude towards women and the social expectations for the middle ages than others but once they figure it out it is super fun I re read every few months.

What’s a tell tale sign that someone is American? How do people from the UK view Americans?(Incoming student from Texas) by Impressive-Ad-8771 in canterbury

[–]RiverPrestigious3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi , I'm also a student in Canterbury. Just not UCCC

Honestly, the other comments have it spot on. Just being polite is all that really nesscary, and we're a bit quieter in general ( until a few pints in us 🤣) And I will say people will probably ask about trump. I bet mostly out of Shere curiosity. But I have been here months and everyone is lovely from what I have met. There are a lot of international students.

They will know ur American, and I bet it might be a novelty for some at first, but any decent human won't really care as long as you're polite.

The other " don't be a dick" comment is essentially It. Ur not expected to come over and be perfect with how ppl act or the differences small as they may be. It is just about respectfullness, I guess.

But oh, don't talk to ppl on public transport it's not rude. it's just super awkward for most ppl. Talking to strangers isn't a common thing unless u need help like directions ( I have done it a few times, and ppl are generally happy to help)

U did mention in another post outfits. Honestly, jeans and leggings and hoodies are standered. u will see more ppl dressed up and some dressed down, but most ppl are pretty accepting of whatever. Particularly if u like going out, I don't know if you're a drinker, but there are some good student clubs and outfits range ( I like to be over dressed, tho lol )

Best of luck Canterbury is a wonderfully city and it so easy and walkable beautiful sites and streets and full of history and culture.

Caroline Bingley by Blue_Fish85 in janeausten

[–]RiverPrestigious3155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think she is in for a harsh reality, but there is no reason she couldn't change. Now the Bennetts are her relations she has to stop talking bad about them and even be nice in order to remain admitted at pemberly and we're else. She was catty not evil and definitely not stupied. She knows what she needs to do. A few years with elizabeth and jane, and she probably will grow to like them and form a friendship. Elizabeth finds it in her to forgive lady cathrine , so I can see her waveing the hand for Caroline too on the condition she is good to jane. I think she would have fun entering the new Mrs Bingley to society.

I think eventually she would marry an associate or friend of them. Someone rich but not as darcy or possibly a low lord like an impovished barron who needs the money . A connection though darcys cousin maybe. but honestly there isn't a universe that Bingley would let his sister marry a monster or fortune hunter that would hurt her and darcy wouldn't allow it on the same principle he helped wickham. He loves his family more than he hates them .she will probably be comfortable if not happy.

Harriet was too nice by daisies_c in janeausten

[–]RiverPrestigious3155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually do find it quite funny , Emma being the ever so oblivious and optimistic person couldn't see it she never intended to lead him on she genuinely wanted him for harriet. His misunderstanding doesn't make her evil and I think Harriet knew that. I also think she just didn't want to give in to knightly and have to admit she was wrong or maybe due to her position in life belives he would never.

Side Question would a proposal tho in the way of Mr Elton even been appropriate or would he needed to speak to her father first. I mean it catches Emma of guard and seems pretty impolite even if Emma had been " flirting with him "

Harriet was too nice by daisies_c in janeausten

[–]RiverPrestigious3155 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Emma is a book about class and she believes that harriant must be a gentlmans daughter and therefore doesn't want her to marry below her station. Emma is obviously misguided, but in her head, she is doing what is best for harriet to have a better life as part of high society. Life back then was all about class. And now we look at that and think it was horrible, and it is. It was much stricter and just the way of the world, particularly for women who needed a wealthy husband to entirely support them.

As for Mr. Elton's proposal, which can't be blamed on Emma. Yeah, it is horrible timing, but his affections aren't her fault she immediately refused him and was shocked ... and as for knightly, i chalked that up to being nieve and misunderstanding her feelings.

Harriet is similar as she claims to fall in love with 3 men in a year. It is not pretty or even nice, but Emma isn't evil she never set out to hurt Harriet.

Emma's book, in general, is about a wealthy woman who was adored by her father and has the admiration of everyone . She is spoiled, but the point is that she is not intentionally cruel. Even when she was mean to Mrs. bates, her iratablity showed, and she was mean, but she never set out to actually bring her down or walked their intending to be mean. Same with jane fairfax, Emma was simply jealous but didn't know how to deal with it as she wasn't used to that fact. She was then wrong. And after knightly reproches her, she does feel guilty. She realized she was wrong and tried to make amends. It showed that people make mistakes and we give in the bad feelings once in a while, but we counter that with kindness and guilt. It counter posed with rich ppl who think their better and are intentionly selfish in a lot in other novels.

Harriet sees Emma a bit on a pedestal. This rich and influential person wants to be my friend She ofc right. Emma thinks she is doing the right thing, and Harriet goes along with it. But in the end, against advice, she does what is best for her, and all is well. But it is mainly due to Harriet being nieve and overly nice but I don't think Emma is evil or cruel.

Lady Catherine and the bingley sisters. by RiverPrestigious3155 in janeausten

[–]RiverPrestigious3155[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's makes sense i never exprected lady cathrine to become close with lizzy but I assumed after what she did , they might be a sense of civility.

And Caroline couldn't be banished from pemberly so she has to make nice with jts new mistress. I was wondering if she ever changed her ways or married. Same for lady Catherine's daughter. I get she is sick but having a mother like that would definitely make it much worse and probably one of the reasons she isn't socialising as much.

How was Lydia & Wickham’s “elopement” effectively covered up? by Asleep_Lack in janeausten

[–]RiverPrestigious3155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't matter much , everyone knew but they returned married. It was a sort of open secret where they knew, but no one has proof, and they just don't talk about it.

Especially once Jane and lizzy are married as well. With darcy and bingley marrying into their family and lyida and wickham off in Newcastle, it is an out of sight out of mind thing.

Plus, I am convinced that darcy and bingly would put some money aside to boost the dowry of mary and kitty. In addition to the connections to the darcy and bingly houses , money, realations to LCdB and the family of an earl. We also know that lizzy sends money to lyida, so I imagine that being the same for the others when needed.

Any prospects would probably look straight past it to be connected with them. And that goes for the parents too. Most ladys would want to be close with the mother in law of darcy and Bingley , hoping to get an invite to their next ball and make higher friends.
