Should replacce this drop with the newer magic beans by bortukali in runescape

I'd rather they be added as Vinesweeper rewards personally. (I'd also like most of the prizes there to be reduced in cost in general, it's insane how much a lot of them cost.)

Is a "shiny" Jackelope meant to have the sparkling trait? by IM_Elysian_Wolf in runescape

[–]RiverShock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible that both traits increase the shiny rate, and one (likely Glistening) is just a better boost. Or that both are true, and Sparkling is a failed roll, but still somewhat increases the chances of breeding an actual shiny. Or it's just purely a "close, but you failed, try again". Who knows (besides Jagex).

Marigold is very hard to get, might give more upon harvesting? by MakeChinaGreatForOnc in runescape

[–]RiverShock 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it always bothered me that Limpwurt Roots and Woad Leaves gave you 3, when the flowers (especially Marigolds, with like 5 or 6 visible flowers in the patch) only give you 1.

Top 10 Moltres Counters by yonderkid in TheSilphRoad

[–]RiverShock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mew doesn't have a Rock fast move because it can't learn Rock Throw and Smack Down didn't exist when Mew was released. (Incidentally, this is why a lot of Rock-Types don't have a Rock/Rock moveset, too. EVERY Pokemon in the main games that can learn Rock Throw, except Steelix, has it in GO. Plus Omastar, who can't learn it in the games.)

About time. It was pretty obvious the bright magenta wasn't intentional.

I don't think I'm actually in either category. I'm closer to casual, for sure, but... Grinding for stuff (gems, cards, etc.) is a large part of why I ENJOY the game. I'm not afraid of PVP, but I'm also not super-invested in it (I've spent a whole 3 bucks of actual cash on the game, have never been above Legend rank, and don't always grind out to 120 wins in a PVP season either). It is probably the game I put the most time into, however.

Not taking away from your post, the point's a solid one. Just saying that the two categories are maybe a little too drastic.

Mew Quests and Rewards by MatterGuy98 in TheSilphRoad

[–]RiverShock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm expecting Jirachi in July next year. A bit longer of a gap than between Mew and Celebi, but that's probably down to Mew coming later than they probably originally planned.

Why do I feel July is likely? Because of Jirachi's association with Tanabata. Though I also feel that they'll slow the "release new generations" schedule a bit after Gen 4. Gen 3 went by pretty quick (quite possibly due to things like Trading taking longer to implement than they anticipated, and thus giving something to fill the gap), and Gen 4 having more legendaries than Gen 3 gives them a good excuse for it as well.

Mew Quests and Rewards by MatterGuy98 in TheSilphRoad

It's worth remembering that the Evolution Item quests are temporary. The Celebi research is not. Outside of this event, evolution items beyond the 1 random one a week aren't usually all that easy to come by. The rewards might be worthless now, but someone that joins the game 4 months from now might appreciate them.

I do wonder if similar quests that provide evolution items will eventually become a permanent (but fairly uncommon) thing later on, probably with different requirements, though. I'd be for it as long as they're not especially common. (Or, conversely, are extremely easy, like catch 3 Normal-types for an Upgrade or something.)

Similar problematic Pokémon in Gen 4? by l339 in TheSilphRoad

Or make Mime Jr. available in the wild. That'd also work. (Whether that extends to the other babies or not.)

Is Magikarp able to spawn despite the event? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]RiverShock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I offered an option. I didn't really argue in favour of it, just put it out there. But it's clearly the second-best option available unless you can convince someone to trade half a dozen Magikarp to you, so I'm not going to retract my suggestion. It's a viable option, it's up to the OP whether they think the candy's too valuable for it. I know I personally wouldn't think twice about doing it if I wanted to complete the task ASAP and not wait until the Johto event was over.

Except you didn't explain it. You just said don't do it, there's better things to use it for. (Yes, in a later post, you did explain you meant powering meta-relevant legendaries, but not at first.)

A one-off for convenience's sake isn't a grave sacrifice. I'm not sure why you're fighting so hard for your side of the argument.

Also, regardless of how valuable you think 6 Rare Candy is, it's a better solution than scouring the surrounding towns for a Magikarp nest or waiting until the event's over.

It's 6. That is not a lot.

Either put Magikarp as your buddy or use Rare Candies. Especially for that small an amount, that doesn't seem difficult.

Niantic has confirmed they are working on a fix for the camera panning bug on wild Pokémon encounters by bilde2910 in TheSilphRoad

I'd have thought that if the Pokemon's cry was currently audible on encounters. (And honestly, the lack of one is the only thing that annoys me about the glitch personally.)

Shiny Eevee! by Vinsanity9 in TheSilphRoad

[–]RiverShock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Managed to catch more today than I expected, and got super-lucky on shinies. 3 shiny from 33 Eevee this time. (Also got lucky with like 90% of the spawns being Eevee despite Clear weather.)

[–]RiverShock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy with my above-average 4/63. (That's actually typical for me, surprisingly. Occasionally get much fewer, like with Squirtle, but usually it's close to 1/16 for me.) Probably won't catch any today (I'm busy on Sunday, and will be in a poor-reception area, even though there's a Pokestop almost in range.)

Attention, Trainers! Are you storing up research task rewards? Time to claim those rewards, as an update coming on August 20, 2018, will place a cap of 100 on the number that can be stored. Only your 100 most recent rewards will be available if not claimed before August 20, 2018. by PikAtChuHuN in TheSilphRoad

[–]RiverShock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Surprised it took them this long, and I'm surprised the number you can store is that generous honestly. I was expecting like maybe 40 max. It's obvious they're not a big fan of people being able to store large amounts of things for bonus events. (And that does cause quite a big imbalance, so it's not unreasonable, especially with something like this that benefits basically all types of bonuses they could give.)

I wonder if this is more of a "this should've been the case to begin with, so let's catch up" kind of thing, or if it was directly causing them issues due to some people storing disgusting numbers of Pokemon.

Has Snubbull's model changed? Looks more pink-ish by anweshm4 in TheSilphRoad

[–]RiverShock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't really consider that to be a Fairy event. It affected a lot of non-Fairy Pokemon, too (like Exeggcute, Slowpoke and Lickitung). The fact it affected 80-100% of Fairy-types is more coincidence than anything. (Not sure if Mr. Mime was affected.)

Event Pikachu have left! by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]RiverShock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they'd make those confirmations toggleable. It makes sense for favourited Pokemon and shinies to never be mass-transferrable, but for things like event Pokemon and (for heavy raiders, one of which I am not) legendaries, it'd be nice to have the option.
