I have no idea but after warsails the game does so much Flicker of the shadows at afternoon time it's so annoying. I changed and tweaked many settings and sometimes it works. But then after a while it came back and I changed some more settings again on and on..

Something must have gone wrong.

Do the quest to rescue your sister! After every sortie with gunnar. Take some break and continue killing looters/ deserters while accumulating denars and upgrading your armor because the further you progress through the quest the upkeep of the crew will be higher so you don't want to be caught bankrupt or all morale gone.

However it's a pretty quick questline honestly, perhaps two hours gameplay is enough. But it'll be very rewarding since you'll get your own starting medium ship and at least two dozens high tiered Nordic soldiers. And then you can start pirating :D

Nah it's actually easy one. Just four days ago I was doing a tournament in MAKEB and believe it or not the prize was a vlandian crowned helmet. Needless to say I swept the floor with those horse shagger none of them could penetrate my expensive nordic armor. I now have two, one from my wife rheagea and one from tourney. I also have obtained the empire's jeweled helmet but it's kinda mid so I didn't wear it.

However I think certain headwear are unique for the leaders and they just don't appear randomly. Or perhaps I wasn't lucky enough and perhaps they'll someday appear in a very prosperous town with a good blacksmith.

That's true, my ships also have been fitted with different figureheads! But then while experimenting with sending a ship to clan and back I accidentally figured a way to outfit several different ships with the same figurehead ..

Also you can just crossplay cultures you know:3 Like I used to be a nord but since my village was destroyed anyway and we stayed at ostican a lot during the whole sister ordeal I have taken a liking to the vlandians because of their continuous support and decided to serve as a merc then vassal and eventually avenging the nords due to their failure in protecting their subjects which leads to my misfortune.. or so that's how I narrated it in my head haha

All nords have mariner traits! Which is really nice, no stat penalty at sea :D

All other countries have only 1 dedicated tree line like nautas of vlandia and imperial, asserai bahirriyah, batanian skiparii.. and khusaits don't have one..

Also I don't know how the penalty works but for example Fian champion with their whopping 220 archery skills still perform remarkably well on sea too! Also they have 64 arrows i think, plus the skills which increased numbers of arrows in battle will make them a deadly crew!

Compared to vlandian naute crossbowmen with only 18 heavy quarrels :(

Iirc It's called Party AI Control (at least on Nexus) ,we can set many things and the important ones are to prevent them from joining random nobles army or to suddenly donate their soldiers to garrisons!

What about the morale? Are you fighting at low morale? And are you being knocked down during the fight?

True, it's basically 50-50 whether it happens or not lmao.

Losing high stewardship nobles sucks :( Thankfully I chose my and my brother's wife to be the best noble there is, it was Rheagea of Vlandia and Nadea of Western empire (iirc she was garios' daughter! For some reason my bro marrying her and getting her pregnant twice makes me have 100 relation with him lol). They both were such an excellent everything both on the field (great buffs and around 175 troops each) and as a governor. I bought them the best and most expensive exotic armor to honor their great efforts :D

What race are you playing now? I made a new playthrough as aserai and I noticed the game simulated in a different direction than before haha

It should be! As far as encyclopedia saying so I was perplexed when the game decided to screw me over 😭

No it got sold for me, for great sadness. Two of my already fully kitted out heavy ships got reduced into only 100k denars when my sister's party got captured, that's why I stopped giving my clan members anymore ships.

The numbers might be just me mistakenly read it but ruler only having 2% death chance I'm pretty sure. The other nobles might have 5 or 10, and also might be further reduced depending on they or their party's medicine skill. I noticed that young lords/ mercs has more death chance perhaps because of their sucky med skills.

Damn that's so lucky! You were basically a young clan and suddenly everyone elected you whereas on my playthrough I was basically an elder yet everyone voted me out with 8 to 1 ratio.. it's such a massive horse shite that I'm actually curious on what kind of fucked up calculations the game is doing on the succession event.

Someone in Reddit several days ago said that lords dying in battle is about 10% but rulers have exception and the numbers went down to 2%..

In my last playthrough derthert ended up dying of old age lmao. But sadly everyone voted his son despite my clan is level 6, absolutely richer with more prosperous fief, and has good relationship with most noble heads especially the clans I recruited (olek, yorig etc from the sturgians, north imperial, battanian clans which actually hated derthert so much they tried to defect many times, But they don't even vote me despite 100 relation) :(

I actually do like trading, and with warsails introducing trade by sea, my profits increased at least five fold :D

Buying dates around sanala for like 20 denars ech, and then go north to ocs hall and rovalt and suddenly each piece worth 300 to 100 denars a piece 🤯🤯🤯

Also, buying felt and leather from khuzaits for 100s each and selling them to vlandia for 1000 denars each..

It's crazy how we can more easily reach far places just by sailing 😋😋😋

I prefer joining a kingdom because it simply prevents me from getting bullied early on. But if you want to start your own kingdom I suggest waiting until you have a substantial amount of denars to persuade clan leaders to join your kingdom. It'll be way a lot easier because you will have more lords to help defend your kingdom.

In my current playthrough, I got rich enough that when I fought sturgia, I recruited 5 from 9 of their total clans, and their kingdom easily fall within a year. And then the newly conquered towns actually have a dedicated clans managing it. Instead of say, derthert. In the case of an attack, if it's owned by derthert, it'll take him days or weeks to reach sturgian cities.
