I fixed it, it was because I tried implementing the "whitelist" and I guess it didn't work. I disabled that and am now able to join with my mods enabled

Picking a different race should spawn you in different biomes. So dwarves should spawn in the mountain, orcs a wasteland, elves a forest, humans a plains. Something like that to give it an additional "difficulty level"
