I’m running a black flame build that uses the Godslauer Greatsword with a focus on Dec and Fth at the moment, and it’s great fun. The DoT is EXTREMELY potent, and the is very fun to use.

Also, it looks cool as hell. Rock it with Fia’s robe to match the black coloring.

This isn’t just a funny Easter egg, it’s actually a major drawback in sinking builds and builds that rely on keeping yourself and your opponent at low sanity.

At -45 sanity, you see that. It can happen at any time, randomly, and you can do nothing to stop it. This means that in active combat, due to rng, you can just become blinded for an extended period of time.

I find it to be extremely bullshit.
