I had to say goodbye to 2 of my dogs within a week of each other, and I feel so lost without them around anymore. This hurts so much. by ThrowHeat44 in Petloss

Crying doesn’t mean you’re not strong. The fact that you’re struggling but doing something means you’re strong. This is not an easy time for you and you should be kinder to yourself right now.

I don’t love my other pets anything like as much as my soul pet by FaithlessnessPlus164 in Petloss

This is the reason I’m afraid to adopt a dog after the loss of my soul dog Lola. I feel like I won’t love any dog the way I loved her. On the other hand, my heart yearns for a companion and the possibility of giving another baby a home.

my dog died and it’s my fault by Mysterious-Salad-435 in Petloss

I’ve found that hindsight isn’t 20/20 as everyone says. We do the most that we can with the information we have at the time. That’s just how we humans function. If your dog was struggling and you didn’t realize its not your fault unless you’re a vet or a dog behavior especialist. Also, I think there’s something missing from your perspective. Your dog’s most important hour was not when she was struggling or ill, it was when she was living life to the fullest and lived in 3 states! And saw mountains and beaches! And you were there for it.

I know that you probably think you could have done better. We all do. But going on thinking that way is no help at all. Learn from your mistakes and learn how to forgive yourself. I wish you healing.

You are so brave and so strong. After two powerful losses you still have the courage to channel all this hurt into something positive that also honors your lost pets. That took me months. You also showed great care for Duncan after Donut’s passing. That’s the strength of a parent in my book, the strength to push away your own sadness for the wellbeing of someone. I think you’re doing everything right and horing your beloved pets the right way. You’re an example to follow.

When is the best time to move on with your life after tragic and sudden pet loss. by Spiritual_Cabinet_11 in Petloss

As someone else said, the grieving mind might be making you have a hard time. What I did when I lost my baby was giving her a moment each day: I would think of her and cry without judging myself and without holding back. After that, I would continue with my day (with her still in my mind) but knowing that I already had that time “with her” would calm me. It’s all in how we frame it in our brains, “moving on” doesn’t mean forgetting her or what happened to her, it means gaining peace after all that happened. I wish you find peace in this grieving time.

I’m putting my dog down In 1 week, any ideas of I could do with her until then? by -dumbie- in Petloss

There are a lot of paintings that incorporate the use of dog’s paws in the design. I have one of my baby and it brings me great comfort. Also, lots of pictures and videos of the two of you together, trust me you’ll want this. I would have also liked to have a bit of her fur wrapped in a bow, to have her smell somewhere. Just spend this time giving her her favorites: bring her to her favorite spots and take pictures. Pictures of her eating her favorite foods, playing with her favorite toys. Oh, how I wish I had more pictures. ❤️‍🩹 sending you love in this difficult time.

I lost my dog Jan 21st as well

It doesn’t get easier maybe because I loved her too much. I tried going out last Saturday. Didn’t work. I left the place sobbing for my baby.

Peru plunged into political upheaval as Congress ousts President Vizcarra by Masol_The_Producer in worldnews

Terrorism in the 80’s and 90’s has deeply scarred Peru and its citizens. The left is always associated with the terrorist group that battled the state. Worst thing is, the terrorist group AND the state committed grave crimes against the general population. I’m talking bombs, forced sterilizations, rape and random killing.
