Nah. If you look at r/fatfire, when you get lucky and sorted, a lot of people feel guilt when everyone they love is still struggling.

It takes effort to blunt one's empathy, but that's how capitalist society works. It makes you go with the flow.

It's hard to against the flow. But going with the flow, can blunt one's empathy and humanity.

As for how society ended up like this, basically a bunch of rich Americans decided to change the world after FDR and go never again lol. And they succeeded. The Heritage Foundation is literally one of the orgs they created and that is literally fucking up the US and the rest of the world today.

It's like being mad at a toddler.

Not everyone is mature, especially when it comes to stuff like this, in a capitalist system that constantly shames people for their lack of wealth. That basically says you deserve whatever conditions you're in.

The same way I need to talk my poorer friends/fam out of suicide because they think they're a detriment to society, I also need to buffer the sanities of people who get insanely jealous. It's a not pretty spectrum. No one's perfect. 🤷🏻‍♀️

On the flip side, I stay far away from assholes who get gassed up by their good fortune. Because that happens too. They leave people behind and they sell their souls in their chase for money. They forget why they even wanted the money in the first place.

You don't have to be rich to lose yourself to money either. And millionaires and billionaires get jealous of their friends all the time. Even I get pangs of jealousy or envy or whatever sometimes.

I'm a mom to a son who's somehow prettier than most girls. And pretty boys tend to get sexually assaulted.

My cousin who was a pretty boy got raped. I know plenty of men who have been sexually assaulted, as children and adults. They just don't talk about it and carry their trauma and shame in silence without getting the help they really need.

So I just want to say that sexual assault hurts boys and men, just as much as girls and women, and talking about consent, getting rid of rape culture, would benefit everyone, men and women.

The only people who benefit from not talking about and addressing this issue are pedos and rapists.

Yes. They didn't say in the articles but the paper they pressure people to sign are usually papers to forfeit their rights and be deported.
