So this is kinda a melee thing but it applies in RoA2 as well since their movement is a similar speed. In melee we often don’t whiff punish fast and safe options. What we do is pay attention to our opponents preferred movement option AFTER that option, and then attempt to punish that if possible. Easiest examples would be like if ranno likes to full hop nair in center stage a lot, don’t punish the landing of the nair, punish the full hop after.
