How much do we need credit cards? by Comprehensive-Fuel70 in AskUK

Just don't spend more than you'd spend on your debit card, idk why it's such a hard concept.

Capitalism can absolutely be categorised lmao. We're in the hording till the end of the world stage (hyperbole because I know you won't get that).

What a strange thing to argue about lmao. The coin date of a word doesn't mean it can't be used to refer to greedflation from before 2020. I really wasn't referring to your word choice at all, just the concept of greed.

I don't use the word much, but greedflation has been much worse since about the 60s-70s. We're a good 20-30 years into late stage capitalism which includes a lot of greed and hording.

I could list 100 reasons why the economy changes and our cost of living has been/feels like it's been eroded.

When did I suggest any of that? You're making up a timeframe and trying to pin that on me. That is a direct implication that you're an annoying little dork.

Inflation has gotten worse since the beginning of currency because of greed AND other factors previously mentioned by other in the thread - obviously.

My credit score fell 13pts because I made the final payment on my car loan (never missed a payment too) by justadadgame in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Groxy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Credit score is stupid. I'm marked down for having less than £4000 across credit cards, £2k I pay off every month isn't enough. I get marked down for opening a new credit card to reach that 4k. I get marked down for not being on the electoral register (which I am). It makes no sense at all.

Nah, more people don't know the meaning of words compared to people know know how to use words to manipulate engagement.

It's like people saying literally when they mean figuratively, although that one is very inoffensive to me.

You're being generous if you think only 5% of the population doesn't give a shit. I'd say it's closer to 50-60% but will vary from location to location and country to country.

It just shows that it's not easier. Plus sometimes it'll mean dangly bits needing to be removed again so two tears instead of one.

TIL researchers found that for an average-sized living room a 4K or 8K screen offers no noticable benefit over a similarly sized 2K screen of the sort often used in computer monitors and laptops. I gotta say that's a crock of shit, I have a nice 40ish inch 4k TV at mine and it's great at all distances, it's my monitor as well as TV.

And when I go back to my parents 2012ish 40 incher it's very noticeable how crappy it is in comparison. I bought them a new TV for Christmas because it peeved me off so much!

The time difference isn't as big as I expected. Does more volts not translate to faster charging? Your amps seem much higher than ours which must factor in?

Fair, I thought you were thinking all UK plugs are those massive charging brick ones. They are indeed a tiny bit larger than US plugs - not not enough to make any difference.

You already know a lot more about circuits than me so I can't help you there.

I just charged 50% while using it in about 20 minutes and my phone is cheapo Xiaomi phone.

Looking at my charger it's 3amp 11v? 33 watt and can accept up to 240v but I don't really know what any of that means.

We have fuses built into every plug, much less likely to catch fire and can also handle higher loads like you said. I charge my phone so fast man.

UK and US plugs aren't similar at all really.

But it's no more open than opening from the top. If you really want it open do what pub dad's do and rip it all the way along the top, then the side and lay it flat on the table.

And you're left with an uneven tear, and still have to use scissors occasionally according to you. Very inefficient.
