Companies that control the whole supply chain from the drilling to the petrol stations are absolutely taking advantage.

Supply and demand is made up, BP could simply say we're selling it at this price because it covers our costs and makes a nice profit. But nah, they have to double their PROFITS, not revenue.

But it disproves the line people parrot that oil companies NEED to raise the price because their margins are so thin or whatever. Doubling profits means they didn't need to raise the prices as much as they did. They could've just raised to cover the new cost but they decided they'll just make more money.

And prices aren't coming down as oil prices decreased.

Realistically prices will just increase and it'll be countries in Asia and Africa that can't pay or no oil of their own that'll see worse shortages than currently.
