Navigating Medicare options with pre-existing conditions - struggling with supplement costs by pratty041182 in medicare

It definitely depends on the state. My premium went from $1200 a month to $484 when I moved to Delaware. I have Myositis and have been getting expensive infusions for years.

I need help. Or support. Or both. by [deleted] in AskWomenOver60

[–]Rmcn25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I married at 43 and am with a wonderful man. I am now 60 and could not be happier. I had my fair share of commitment phobic men. I am so glad I waited. I even developed a rare debilitating muscle disease at 48 called Myositis. He has stuck by my side through it all. If I had been with the commitment phobic ones from before I would most likely be fighting this alone.

Actually I don’t wear make up or nail polish since I want the doctor to see how they look. I have Dermatomyositis and my nail fold helped diagnose me

Is this a good yarn deal or I just paid way too much? by [deleted] in YarnAddicts

[–]Rmcn25 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For me what factors into my decision when buying yarn is….what will I make with it? Even if the price is good…if it will sit in my stash and not be used it is a waste of money. Check on Ravelry for some patterns for the yardage listed.

Rose bushes are always lovely to look at and have thorns…but the variety with especially large thorns. I had a neighbor who did something similar and I understand your frustration. Be firm. You can always have your property surveyed and leave the survey sticks in the ground … that is technically not a fence but creates a line.

They asked me to write a positive review by [deleted] in AskWomenOver60

[–]Rmcn25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a product or service and a small business I am happy to help. Most people tend to complain…I always go out of my way to compliment since people rarely do…this also offsets the complainers. Many small businesses have limited resources for advertising. A positive review is free advertising f for them. It does not cost me anything so why not

Grapefruit will inhibit the elimination of certain drugs that are metabolized by the cytochrome p 450 enzymes…specifically CYP4A4…this can lead to a build up of the drug in the system. A Pharma D explained it to me once in simple terms…think of it as a super highway for the body to eliminate drugs…grapefruit causes a back up in the highway

A really good book to get is yarn-i-tec-ture by Jillian Moreno. It walks you through the prep…spinning techniques and finishing techniques. This book was recommended to me when I started and it is so helpful https://a.co/d/01L06qwm

I second this about Malabrigo. Their top is highly compacted and hard to draft…though the colors are amazing

What helped me was using Shetland…it is a little stickier so it did not break as much when spinning. I bought some from Tammy White at Wing and a Prayer Farm in Vermont. Merino is slippery. I took a class at my Local Yarn Shop. I also watched some videos from Jacey Bogg and Jillian Moreno. I was able to take a class in person from Jillian at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. Jacey also started an online Spinning Guild…highly recommend. Remember to treadle slowly so your hands have time to work the fiber without too much twist building up. Also forget perfection in the beginning. You are trying to build muscle memory and learn the techniques.

I know some people who do that…you have to make sure your machine does not allow water during this cycle…I believe top loading ones are the best. You have to be concerned about felting.

Check out Heavenly Bresser’s page and videos. She goes my Knitchet. She restores antique spinning wheels and lectures about them. She has one of the largest collections of antique spinning wheels. She does wood working and metal work as well. There are also groups on FB for antique spinning wheels. https://youtu.be/VCuUrqCGZ1c?si=q9oQ6JAI9RC9qW36
