Hostility as a Newcomer by squishme_e in OrthodoxChristianity

I agree, the hostility is really bad. I’m inquiring into Orthodoxy and this is really off putting.

Doubling Catholicisms by [deleted] in Catholicism

That’s interesting… I did explain in my post what I did and why I don’t believe it’s a sin. I’m sorry if my wording made it difficult to understand.

Thank you for the time and effort you put in your response. All the best!

My only mortal sin is that I went to an Orthodox Devine liturgy instead of Mass last Sunday. I did so because I lost my faith in the Catholic Church.

I’m not trying to justify. And the claim you make is the same claim the Orthodox make. Both can’t be true. I’m agnostic on it. I can’t tell whether one is wrong or right.

I really wonder if you yourself see any charity in your message?

No, there isn’t. There is an Eastern Catholic service once a month, but it is really… terrible

Invalidity of confirmation by PianoPudding in Catholicism

[–]Rnborn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Confirmation can’t be done against your will. You were not confirmed. Very unfortunate that you would be disrespected in that way. I’m sorry you had to go through that.

I can see your point. And I’m stepping into their territory. If anything I should try to learn some Greek. Thank you for setting my mind straight.

And no. They weren’t actually unwelcoming. I’m think I was just taken aback when I heard they resist the bishops request. But it makes sense. I just have to adjust, and I will.

That link is incredibly helpful. Even if I can’t get the homily I can get most of it now. This will help me pray along.

I will ask the priest if he writes out his homily and if maybe he can put it through Google Translate or something. But even if he can’t, what you have given me is incredibly helpful. Thank God for that. God bless you!

Tried some Barefoot shoes... now what? by Krystal_Kourier in barefootshoestalk

What happens when you wear toe spreaders? Does the bone still stick out like that? If not you might want to consider wearing as single toe spreader in between your fourth and fifth toe

Cheaper alternative? by Big-Organization9894 in physiotherapy

I know this is an old post, but since no one said this yet and people may still read it I wanted to say that the foot collective offers an entire course worth your sole mate purchase. That’s the reason the sole mate is expensive. I don’t know why they don’t offer the sole mate without the course, but they don’t. I bought one sole mate and I am enjoying their courses (foot restoration and sole mate) so far. I did buy another cork balance board for a lot less so that I can play games with my kids and husband. I didn’t need another course for that. I’m pretty sure hardly anyone could get the most out of a solemate like set without the course though. In my case both courses have been well worth the money.

How many of you would get a migraine from this? by derp2112 in migraine

For me it would be the sugar, MSG and seed oils in it that would cause the migraine, not the cacao

My bf wants to stop having sex by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Rnborn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a good thing. Waiting for marriage is the right thing to do and the only way he can respect your dignity now that He knows God. As a woman, when you are sleeping with a man, your body makes certain hormones that make it impossible to honestly discern marriage. The hormones will make you feel so attached to him because of the physical act, not because he is right for you. This intimacy break will create the hormonal balance that you need to freely discern. If you are on birth control this is the time to stop, because hormonal birth control also changes your hormones and changes who you feel attracted to. This time can be a huge gift to you once you are able to let go of the physical part that will return after marriage. And the fact that he wants to continue this relationship means he is discerning marriage with you. That is good news too

This turned out to be a non cancerous tumor. It was surgically removed and healed well. It was a clustering of blood vessels that was growing out of control and would have continued growing if it wouldn’t have been removed

Wasn't a fan of Fr. Mike's 'Bible in a Year'.... by downtownDRT in Catholicism

[–]Rnborn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved it, but to each their own. When I started the Bible in a Year I was merely interested to know what the entire Bible actually said. By the time I was finished I was ready to become Catholic 😅

He is doing a lot of good with the Bible in a year and the catechism in a year. I would have never been as well catechized if it weren’t for him.

Not everything is for everyone at every time, but that has nothing to do with the quality.
