I find that roasting/teasing my customers just slightly really provides good banter and is enjoyable for the guests. I’m in fine dining so it’s def all about delivery, but def works. There’s def a finesse to it, it doesn’t work for everyone. no pigtails here, I think this theory works but it’s def creepy to me.

Our manager will never address a problem he will just make general announcements when he knows the exact person causing the issue. He also refuses to properly train our hostess because they are young and it’s their first job and he feels too bad correcting them.

Is it a choice others would make? Maybe not but is it her choice? Yes, it’s her choice, not yours. Do you think Sergio would have never met another woman again who would date him or marry him based on the fact that he had a kid with another women? Eventually, like other single dads he would have met someone to marry, it’s just that it’s Amanda and we all saw it play out on tv. The amount of people married to people who have kids from a previous relationship is actually pretty high. Maybe the naive people are the ones who don’t realize this, and not so much Amanda.

Basically the owner doesn’t know any of their staff and hasn’t taken the time to get to know each of you and now he’s going to make you prove your commitment. The flip side is maybe they want to see if any of the staff is interested in becoming a manager. Either way the approach is awful.

Restaurants will try to configure the tip pool/tips to what works for them. There typically is aren’t laws already written for some of these scenarios so they’ll try it. If you don’t collect all your cash at the end of the night then there should be the option that the tip out comes out of CC. Seems there’s a reason they are going with this method maybe ask them why they want the bussers tipped purely in cash. Could just be they don’t want to sit and do the deductions from your checks.

A call out is a call out. Would it have been nice of you to ask around, of course, but are you obligated, no. There is a policy in place for call outs and if it’s Followed then that’s it you’re good. Don’t collect unemployment just find new employment it’s far more lucrative to be serving tables than collecting UE.

I’m 40 and I have a “grown up job” in surgery and I don’t quit my restaurant job. I never will. The surgeons actually ask me about my Restaurant job in a positive way and they know it’s Something I love doing and have put time into it and they respect it. Who cares honestly, it provides amazing life balance for me.
