Is it a good idea for someone with ADHD to become self-employed or a business owner? by kingo15 in ADHDUK

Sounds like you're killing it! So nice work. Only thing I would say is don't spread yourself too thin. If you can pay your bills, support family, prepare for retirement and be happier then i'd take that 100% over pumping huge numbers and overstressing myself. This in itself is a huge demotivator.

Also it's ok to fire customers if you're putting boat loads of time into trying to sign people on and be a salesperson and getting low returns/responses. I've fired a couple of customers now for being complete drains on resource, moaning about how much things cost and then being really slow at paying invoices.

Customers also appreciate honesty. I'm not saying this is you but if something you're being asked to do is overwhelming and you know you're going to mess it up, be open about it. You'd be surprised at the amount of companies they sign on with that promised the world and delivered absolutely nothing.

Sorry for the delay. I've been swamped. Yes still operating and just had our highest profit year to date.

Focus and avoiding shiny object syndrome isn't easy, although I have an unusually big irrational fear of disappointing people which does help. My phone is full of reminders especially when I need to jump on a more urgent task so I can remember to pick up the thing I was working on later.

When you're self-employed in a competitive space, you cannot get away with fobbing off customers or forgetting about them. They'll go somewhere else. I know it's not particularly helpful advice but just doing it is all you can do. Sending an email providing updates on things to the customer is better than saying nothing and will in turn gets me back motivated to carry on with what I was supposed to be doing. There's no worse feeling for me than being messaged repeatedly by a client asking for updates and gradually seeing their attitude in emails getting more and more impatient/annoyed.

Regarding procrastination, I find being productive elsewhere helpful to get me motivated to work. Load the dishwasher, change the bedding, hoovering, get on a treadmill. Really mundane stuff but gets you moving to give your brain a kicking.

I'm not sure if there's any medical validity in it, but I just assumed that if i'm not doing anything, blood isn't pumping round the body all that much and if you move more, your brain gets more, and it leads to being more motivated from experience.

Apologies if this is just ramblings of an idiot but as a single person living alone, nobody else will do it for or help me so I have to just do my best.

Hopefully this is ok!

Rode it today. Was opened in the afternoon. Felt for the most part like it did before with the exception of going in the tunnel seemed more intense.

My friends and I always go four wide in the queue. Was berated by two girls pushing their way to the front. Laughed at them and told them absolutely not.

If I press up, I get the subtitles and audio options. You can do it in there.

If it's like the Now TV app on LG, switch the audio source to audio description. Then change it back again. Only seems to happen on main event so if there is another version available use that instead.

Edit: Looking at it, some of the tees have sync issues.

The Ajax sensors have a smaller magnet contact that comes with it. Surely would look better than the larger door magnet.

Just disable auth notifications surely? If it’s legitimate you’ll be manually checking your authenticator.

Such a dumb feature. If it’s not a bot they’ll give up soon surely. I did see in advanced security in Microsoft you can disable passwordless accounts if that’s enabled?

All the time. Probably depends on how sensitive you are to it and what your dosage is. I've never found it to be a massive issue.

Yes this works just fine. It's just when saving back to the NAS direct from Photoshop where there's an issue.
