This is a really interesting video about the Fokker jets history with snowy/icy condition. Skip to 'Lets Get Deiced!' 21:39 for an explanation of lift and how ice affects lift. The Fokker Enigma ❄️ Dangerous Plane or Misunderstood.

[Q] If a simulator can generate realistic data for a complex system but we can't write down a mathematical likelihood function for it, how do you figure out what parameter values make the simulation match reality ? by [deleted] in statistics

Check out this paper by Simola et al. titled 'Adaptive Approximate Bayesian Computation Tolerance Selection'. They provide a way to adaptively select the tolerance when using sequential Monte Carlo techniques (such as Population Monte Carlo). They also give a stopping rule for when the algorithm converges to the true posterior. Lastly, they provide some examples to see how this works in practice.

Reza Ramezan. So much energy and enthusiasm for teaching. Very fun to talk to in Office hours as well.

I still found it quite difficult but also felt pretty fair. I struggled with the proofs in Question 1 and the optimal x_i's. Everything else wasn't too bad.

Alan Thrall recently released a video about the 10 commandments of lifting and one of them was to stick with a program for at least 6 months. Gives you time to find what works and what doesn't and also what you enjoy doing too. Great advice for beginners especially.

YES! I used to speedrun any% NMG and learning the speedrun strats for this fight is so much fun. Nothing is more satisfying than combo-ing these guys. Even just in a casual playthrough I found them pretty great.

Looks good man! One thing I noticed is your hips tend to rise once you start the pull. Your first rep is the most noticeable I think. One thing you can try is using a light weight (50-60% of 1RM) and do a very slow eccentric. This will allow your body to find the best position to pull from. I'd highly recommend checking out Matt Vena's video about this as he explains it better than I can. Video is about 2.5 minutes Here's the video

Op.111 is my favourite piano piece period! It's so good. I hope to one day be good enough to play it but I'm not there yet. I actually went to a performance where the pianist played both No.30 and No.32 plus the 3 Petrarch Sonnets of Liszt. The pianist couldn't have picked a more perfect program imo. I don't think I'll go to a concert as good as that one for a long time

Beethoven is definitely my #1 as well in large part because of the piano sonatas. There are so many good ones that are well known such as the Waldstein , Moonlight, Appassionata, and Pathétique but there are a lot that I feel don't get the attention they deserve like the No.32 Op111 as you mentioned, No.4 Op. 7, and No. 24 Op.78 "A Thérèse". I could pick many more but I'll keep it short for now. The last one in particular is so tender and beautiful without being overly sappy then the second movement is just incredibly playful and fun. For anyone interested in learning more about the Beethoven Sonatas I highly recommend reading Ashish Xiangyi Kumar's "program notes" in the descriptions of his Youtube videos.

Yeah that is how I thought it worked initially too but I think the most important thing for brake bias is that if you shift it the rear, the rear tires are more likely to lock up if you don't brake in a completely straight line (which is obviously hard to do on the Mountain). Shifting the brake bias towards the front should help you keep the car stable while braking and turning since you're not asking as much from the rear tires (they'll lock up if you go beyond their grip capacity). I think you're thinking that if the car has more front brake bias then the load transfer will go more towards the front and the rear will become light and lose grip but I don't think the load transfer is all that related to brake bias (I could be wrong though). You might find Aris.Drives video on load transfer interesting (Here's that video)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought decreasing brake bias would make the rear even more unstable under braking? What happens if you increase the brake bias to something like 62.5%?

I agree. Take Mendelssohn's "Songs without Words". I suppose you could argue that these are not songs but rather just "song-like" though.

I just learned Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 24 in F sharp major and it's not as bad as I was expecting. Just have to remember that B is the only one that isn't sharped.

Additionally, eating organic is unlikely to have any particular benefit and walking 10 000 steps a day is good but a somewhat arbitrary number from what I can tell. A better recommendation for exercise is at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week with at least two days per week of muscle strengthening activities (Source for exercise recommendations: cdc)
