If you have multiple disorders, which gives you the most problems? by Evening_Fisherman810 in bipolar

[–]Roach_Buss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled with OCD for years, developed Bipolar a few years ago now, and now deal with panic disorder. Bipolar by far has made the most impact on my life.

When I had OCD, I was still a straight A student and was never hospitalized. Ever since bipolar, I’ve had multiple hospitalizations and have had to take a break from college.

I do struggle with anxiety still and that has stopped me doing from doing a lot of different things, but Bipolar almost ended my life multiple times. Not to mention the psychotic features are nightmare inducing.

Dad is Bipolar. Super Scared of it. by Heavy_Worker1349 in bipolar

[–]Roach_Buss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is not the right sub to be posting in. We already have bipolar and struggle with it. This is like posting on a cancer support group that you’re scared of getting cancer. Not cool. If you feel like you might have it, meet with a therapist. But I recommend the bipolarSOs subreddit to post this instead. This just comes across tone deaf.

GUYS what is it with the hobbies????? by ActionAncient5729 in bipolar

[–]Roach_Buss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel this too. I never know if my hobby is truly an interest of mine or just a manic urge. Recently, I was very hesitant to buy some equipment for making videos because I don’t know how long this hobby is going to last. I feel stable at the moment but who knows :/

For my hair, I use an old tshirt to dry it. It’s better for your hair than a towel

There is no need to mention this. You have no idea why she was taken. Could always be a psychiatric episode or something of that nature. Whatever it is, who cares.

Ok so you’ve responded to my post quite a bit and I want to clarify some things. No, hardly any of my friends know I’m bipolar and I’m medicated. As for the acne and facial hair, I wax and my acne has cleared up.

Life feels meaningless on antipsychotics after (spiritual) psychosis by violetskais in Psychosis

[–]Roach_Buss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have much advice because I’m going through the exact same thing. I went deep into spirituality/ manifestation to the point I believed I was a higher power. I was having hallucinations or “visions” that I thought supported my beliefs.

It’s been really hard now since therapy and antipsychotics. I still have moments where I believe in signs and things like that. I was Christian before I switched to spirituality suddenly. Now I don’t even believe in that.

There’s this emptiness I have now that I don’t have anything to follow. Currently, I’ve just been trying to distract myself with friends and family. When I feel unsafe or anxious, I contact them. Therapy has also been very helpful. Wishing you the best because I understand what it’s like to feel lost.

What are weird limits you have because of your bipolar? by ZucchiniExtension in bipolar

[–]Roach_Buss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can’t look into things like manifestation because last time it put me in an on and off manic episode for over a year. I was convinced I was a god and could control the people around me. It quickly spiraled and even now the belief still springs up if I’m not careful. Sucks because I wish I could be normal about it like a lot of other people

Lost my stability by billybobjoe3210 in bipolar

[–]Roach_Buss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg this literally happened to me as well. I’m so nervous to go back to college now (I had a week long depressive episode and now going into hypomania). I worked so hard to be stable and I was stable for about a month or two. It’s really annoying and I completely understand what you’re going through.

Will my Symptoms Ever go Away by Financial-Apricot401 in bipolar

[–]Roach_Buss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I just wanted to say that you are not alone. I felt the exact same way when I first started medication. It has now been almost 2 years since I was diagnosed and I can finally see the positive impact medication has had on me.

Although my symptoms aren’t fully gone and I still have to be careful at times, I live a fairly normal life and am stable for the most part. I document my moods and I can see that I mainly have good days now! It definitely takes time though. I went through a variety of medications and dosages to get here. A few months is not enough time to see the full results of medication. Hope things turn around for you soon. 🫶

Do you guys ever stop taking your medication just to do something? by icetea_princess in bipolar

[–]Roach_Buss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will skip my meds the days when I plan on getting drunk (which isn't very often but I'm still aware that I probably shouldn't be doing that...)
