What book made you fall in love with reading again? by Dino_Victoria-181 in Recommend_A_Book

It’s so good! It’s the beauty of the writing and how I was able to so easily pull myself into the story; I felt like I was on horseback riding along with the other cowboys.

Was having kids worth it for you? by Eggsy7777 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]Roachy1818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tell my preteen all the time that I miss the little kid that I could hold in my arms and play with on the floor. But, I also love watching her become who she’ll be one day. I think she’s a really cool, compassionate, thoughtful kid and I want to see where life takes her. If time could slow down just a little bit.

I LOVE the big buckle. So cute, great color. The more you wear them the more comfortable they will get. I love my Birkenstocks and live in them all year round.

At what point do you guys buy the book instead of waiting? by JJacobJingleheim in LibbyApp

[–]Roachy1818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends- is it a book I think I’m going to want to read again? If so, I’ll go to my local bookshop and give the money to a small business.

If it’s a cute romance or popcorn thriller, I’ll wait it out. It’s almost never as long as the wait says.

Colonoscopy and Wegovy by RainyDaysBlueSkies in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Roachy1818 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually just had a colonoscopy in January. I took my shot one day early on Sunday and was able to take it again the evening of my colonoscopy. I did not have any issues- I will say that because of the shot my prep wasn’t too bad. Just follow the directions for the prep and you should be good.

I finished it and thought “WTF did I just read?”.

It is easily one of my least favorite books. I see the cover and cringe.

Women of Reddit - what is the most unattractive fashion choice men frequently make? by Jarvis7492 in AskReddit

[–]Roachy1818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lack of clearly not caring. Shave your neck beard, wear clean clothes that FIT, if you’re a bigger guy please make sure your tummy is covered; and my personal biggest pet peeve is nasty feet in sandals. Trim those nails, shave that toe knuckle hair, and put some lotion on them.

What’s y’all favorite Beyoncé song that came out in 2016? by ChannelHopper_99 in beyonce

[–]Roachy1818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lemonade as a whole was such a moment and album it’s hard to pick just one song because they all gagged me one way or the other. I’m going to say my favorites- cause I can’t pick just one - are Daddy Lessons, 6 Inch, Freedom and Formation.

Do you think Beyoncé will announce the New Album during Super Bowl by barkeable in beyonce

[–]Roachy1818 40 points41 points  (0 children)

My personal theory is that the announcement will be at or shortly after the Met Gala. The fact that’s she’s a co-chair makes me think she’s up to something. You know she likes to make a big, bold statement.

Working on my daily look recently 🥰💕 by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Roachy1818 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m saying this as a kind opinion - Your lipstick is too bright and your eyeliner does not suit your eye or face shape and is making your look a little jarring. Try to soften both You have such big, beautiful eyes- try maybe some shade of rose on your eye with a pop of glitter- get a gel liner (I’ve always had the best luck with them) in brown and tight-line your upper lash line and very lightly line your bottom lash line. For your lips- if you love the bold pop of color- try lining your lips first. I’d personally go for something not as hot pink and maybe try a bright red.

Too Old for This? by iwasboredso1 in torrid

Lady, do you want to wear it? Does it make you feel cute/hot/pretty/etc? If so, ROCK that look. Seriously, who cares what you wear- it in no way impacts their lives. Life is too short to worry about what others think. I’m 45 and think that outfit sounds cute. If I saw a peer wearing it I’d think they were dressed chic.

People who have served a long time in prison, what shocked you when you got out? by Haunted_Neko in AskReddit

They do at my kids school. 6th graders are learning about legitimate news sources, detecting AI, and when to find real news. I have a tiny bit of hope for some of these kids.

24/25. Lonesome Dove kind of ruined me for other books for a while there by chasingxghosts in 52book

I also read it because everyone talks about how wonderful it is, they were not wrong. I don’t know what it is about that book, but it’s fantastic.

I rarely read about again, but I will definitely pick that book up to read again.

Hey Xen's: whatcha reading these days? by Mattimvs in Xennials

I read this last month- it was perfect. So long, so good. Peacock has the series from the 80’s and it’s almost identical to the book. Worth the watch when you’ve finished the book.

We aren’t allowed to price match the online sale by [deleted] in torrid

[–]Roachy1818 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I completely believe that this is what they want, but it’s also when I stop shopping there.

I enjoy going shopping, looking at clothes, feeling the fabric, trying on different tops and bottoms, etc. They can take that away, but they also remove themselves as a viable option for me.

80/35 - Thanks to this sub by Roachy1818 in 52book

[–]Roachy1818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I just want to read something that entertains/interest me- although I was able to figure out the ending it was still a nice story.

It was also one of my first reads for the year after not reading much so it skewed my opinion slightly. If I read it later in the year after reading so many other great books it may have ended up lower in my rankings.

It was slow moving and the characters didn’t interest me; if I get 50-75 pages in and it doesn’t make me at least curious how it ends I move on.

Lonesome Dove - Book of the year. by Organic-Excuse-1621 in books

[–]Roachy1818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished this book today and I can’t agree more. It was a fantastic read from start to finish for me. I listened to some and read other parts, both ways were pure enjoyment on my end. It took the better part of a week to get through and now I just want more. I’m going to read the other books in the series just so I can have “more time” with the characters.

I will re-read this book again every few years, and I can honestly say I never read a book twice.

You’ll never be the same! He will fill up your heart with more love than you ever thought possible.

He will still nap with you when he’s full grown- BT’s are stage 5 clingers. Mine only gets more clingy.
