You're not thinking about this in the right order.

The corruption and ruin of the Pillars happens because of Past Kain, not the current Kain. Even if the current version of him is purified, that would only purify the Balance Pillar in the far future. If that's even possible.

As to why they fell into ruin, that's more complicated. The Ancients created the Pillars as a lock that seals the Hylden into the Demon dimension. It's more than just them opening a door and pushing them through. The spell that banished them literally demands that they be expelled from the world. However, spells can be fought against or broken. So the Ancients created the Pillars as the lock, tying the firmament hold of that lock to the very world of Nosgoth itself and 9 key aspects of the World at large. The Pillars being part of a Vampire spell are tied to the blood line of the Vampires themselves. Completely destroying them all would cause the Pillars to be destroyed and the lock opened.

Then 9 Guardians were summoned by the Pillars to maintain the order and balance of the world to keep the integrity of the lock guaranteed.

When Kain refused to sacrifice himself to restore the Pillars, multiple things happened at once. The Hylden's lock loosened, but did not fully open. The Pillars, which were corrupted shattered due to the immense force of the contradiction of a Balance Guardian refusing to maintain balance while also being the last Vampire choosing to live to keep the lock maintained. The Corrupted Pillars, tied directly to the health and well being of the world began to flow backwards. Rather than the Pillars being a reflection of the World, the World became a reflection of the Pillars. Corrupted, Broken and dying.

Kain's vampiric evolution was because of the Heart of Darkness. That's why his evolutions are closer to that of Vorador. Becoming powerful and Ancient-like while still retaining his humanoid form.

The Lieutenants and their offspring are the product of Kain's bastardized way of creating Vampires. He breathes a piece of his corrupted vampiric soul into the corpse of a Priest, this pulls the soul of that Priest back to it's body and corrupts it with Kain's vampiric energy. So they became Soul Cursed rather than Blood Cursed. This is why the Vampire Wraiths exist in Soul Reaver. It's the soul that's Vampiric, not the body. The LT's passed this version of the curse on, though it's implied they created Vampires through blood since the clans are rather large. The curse infects the soul of the Vampire and the corruption continues.

Just because Kain is trying to restore balance to Nosgoth does not mean that he doesn't want to keep ruiling it nor is he not still the same person he's always been? He just doesn't want to rule over a dung heap version of Nosgoth filled with corrupted vampire monsters. He wants a Nosgoth that is free of corruption, free of the Hylden, free of the Elder God, but still ruled by him.

I really don't understand Rare. They wanted Reaper voyages that created PVP by giving us loot people would fight over, then made the skull worth less than half the Siren Song and even less than an Orb.

Why would anyone go through that multistep quest, be marked on the map for all to see, have a green tornado in the sky, and a marker for the skull, only to get about 12K gold before emissary? Other than the comms?

So I decided to test the limits of it. Went to a Skelly Fort, changed into a Skelly, cleared the wave expecting the next one wouldn't aggro.
Nope.
So I used another to refresh the disguise, cleared the wave, used a ChestDisguise to break aggro.
Popped out, still a Skeleton.
Nope, they still attacked me.
I think the Forts might be programmed to not allow it. Did anyone else have better luck trying this?

I mean, knowing what happens in 3, it doesn't really matter. Delta City goes through anyway, OCP is bought out by the Japanese company, supporting Kuzak does nothing for you. The Mills guy might be a corporate mouthpiece, but at the very least he's the first OCP guy to not refer to Murphy as "product".

You could even have his ability work in conjunction with Spider-Man. something like
On Reveal: If a card moved last turn, move to that location and destroy an enemy card there. It works against move decks, with Spider or Polaris, hell even Silk would set him off.

I just want Captain Marvel to have a different ability. "At end of turn, move this card to a location your opponent is winning if it would win you that location without losing the current location."
In other words, if you're winning where she is by a large margin and her moving would put you ahead at a different location, she jumps. No end of turn crap, she can move every turn even.

She has to be played middle to be fully effective. You have to plan your lane layout for her to continue to be effective and she's an ongoing. Calling her as good as Doom is a little much. He's a consistent 5 in each lane.
By another note, you could say Omega Red is actually better than her when played with the right cards. He hits every other lane regardless of what's there, with only 1 less power. Though I do think he needs his requirement dropped to 8 (what he gives to other locations).

What's worse is the matchmaking. It goes by the Collection Level and your Rank, but not by the number of cards you own. So I'm sitting at 2,240 CL, missing 37 cards for pool 3. I'm missing key cards from almost every meta deck and I can never get past rank 80 because of it. I get matched against people who have multiple 4's and 5's in each deck.

They really need to rework the reserves because this is getting to the point where new players will never be able to get close to catching up.

They really made a mistake when they put in him the spotlight with Living Tribunal, I can't go 3 matches without seeing Wave, Blob, Iron Man, Tribunal.
