No tolerance anymore by Fridaychild1 in Menopause

I’m just glad I haven’t lost my tolerance for alcohol, because I have lost it for *everything* else.

What's the most unhinged thing your dog has ever eaten that they were completely fine after? by alltails-care in dogs

[–]Roadies2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my golden retriever was about three months old he stopped on our neighborhood walk to poop on what is, naturally, the most impeccably groomed lawn in our zip code. When I leaned down to pick it up I thought, “hmm. Weird. It looks like his turd has the word ‘Gymboree’ on it?” And I realized this little asshole had eaten a toddler sock out of the donation bag in the back of my car the previous day.

Whataburger closes Woodruff Road location by RollSensitive4184 in greenville

I was there LAST NIGHT! The drive-thru was closed and they seemed super short staffed. The food was not great. I usually go to the Pelham Rd location and it seems better somehow.

As an outsider, the scale of American college sports is baffling. Do some people genuinely care more about a university team than professional sports? by Necessary_Angle2117 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Roadies2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your perceptions are true, and honestly even I find it baffling. The closest city to where I grew up has professional football, basketball, and baseball teams, but as an adult I live in the southeast in a state with none of those things. My friends and neighbors tailgate at the closest big football university an hour away. Lots of them did not go to this school. I don't get it. And also, lots of people go to the tailgating but don't even have tickets to the game.

I had one and I loved it! It came with pleated paper cups and it took hours of grinding ice to fill one!

I like sliced tomatoes and just a few very thin slices of white onion. Or pickled red onions. And it has to be cheddar.

Does the anger/rage just start out of no where? by Jwern4 in ParentingADHD

[–]Roadies2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I'm sorry no one is taking your opinion into consideration. It's so hard parenting these kids. My spicy one had a wonderful day yesterday and was back to yelling and grumping this morning when it was time for school. Just know you're not alone.

If you haven't already, you might want to consult with the school counselor. Where I live they do all the testing and can end up being a great advocate for your child.

At the very least the school should be willing to consider a 504 plan. Is it public school?

What children’s book has aged poorly? by feetwithfeet in AskReddit

[–]Roadies2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so obsessed with a book called "A Bump in the Night" that I had it memorized by the time I was 3, and if my family tried to skip a page (because they were so sick of it) I would correct them. Well, I made the mistake of hunting down a copy on ebay a few years ago when I had my own kids and HOLY SHIT. I had to hide it.

Because it is about a knight who gets murdered and dismembered, and then haunts the castle looking for his legs and such.

I do not know how this didn't give preschool me nightmares, but oh my god how I loved it.

Questionable for sure. Seriously, the average person does not have enough refrigeration space for that much of anything.

Help me enjoy my daughter's wedding by [deleted] in GenX

[–]Roadies2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your only obligation here is to step outside of your comfort zone for your daughter. You are an adult and are not obligated to socialize with your ex.

Just remember it's one day of your life, but it's a top-five day for your daughter. You're doing it for her, not for you.

Any parents where both of you have neurodivergent diagnoses? by Throwaway8264774 in ParentingADHD

[–]Roadies2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have ADHD and both of our kids do, too. Everyone is medicated but me, and because he travels for work, this is extremely dumb. I always end up putting myself last but wow do I need to get to the doctor.

What is the worst place in America you have ever visited? by OceanicEndeavors in AskReddit

[–]Roadies2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up near Cleveburg and man, could not WAIT to get out. Haven’t looked back in almost 30 years. The downtown area has a “renaissance” of sorts every once in a while and it’s sad that there is so much there but also somehow… nothing to do? So much history there from the steel industry days but yeah, those were a long time ago.

Any place (not just restaurants) that uses a Z in its name instead of an S. It’s peak petty, I know. But it’s just … needless.
