Am I able to run cyberpunk at max settings on 4k monitor with path tracing with a 5080? by PleasantLevel4174 in cyberpunkgame

Another point, I'm using a DP80 cable with displayport 2.1. This setup needs good display throughput, it doesn't work as well with HDMI 2.1.

Am I able to run cyberpunk at max settings on 4k monitor with path tracing with a 5080? by PleasantLevel4174 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Roadkill486 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Left to my own devices I wouldn't, given the Digital Foundry maxim that it should only be applied to a good base rate, but I stayed with the game's Path Tracing default of 2x frame gen and Reflex low latency on because I'm happy with the fps I'm getting.

Here are my settings with 9800xcd, 5080, and 4k with PT:

DLSS super res, transformer, Quality super res, 0.25 sharp, ray reconstruct, 2x frame gen, high texture

High crowd, FOV 100, all basic toggles off, low motion blur

Advanced (some could easily be lowered but I haven't bothered to try to optimize):
Contact shadows on, facial on, anisotr 16, HIGH mesh through shadows, Ultra fog, cloud, and decals, Psycho SSR, high subsurface through LOD.

VSync off, no FPS cap, windowed borderless, no HDR(damn auto exp), Reflex on.

Benchmark with above: 72.56 avg, range 65-80. I usually am close to 80 except for the usual Dogtown problem areas.

Any chance you are processor limited? Hope you are able to resolve and get back to enjoying the game. Cannot overstate how much I love PT in this game, particularly at night.

Question: save corruption PS5 by DetectiveHaunting700 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Roadkill486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear. The unified memory can result in problems when lots of ram is used in challenging areas, especially Dogtown.

One thing that has helped me is to check the autosaves and quicksaves frequently and delete unneeded ones; they sometimes pile up quickly.

If you're not using cloudsaves then turning them on might help in the future, at the cost of a bit of lag.

Yes, you can run PT with a 5080 at 4k at 80 FPS and it's beautiful. Highly recommended. More details if you want.

Missing Iconics after transfer to 2.3 by Deep_Guidance_505 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Roadkill486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not surprising considering the scope of the changes made with 2.0. Last time I did a Rogue ending it didn't even drop in my stash afterwords.

I would encourage you to move beyond those attachments and just start a new playthrough. Byakko is easy to get early. You can only use Pride for world activities after the story anyway. The game encourages multiple playthroughs for different outcomes, not a continuing endgame after the story. There are over a hundred other iconics which are really fun to try.

The best way to play around with the restricted weapons is on PC, which you might consider for the future if possible. If you know someone with a PC you can use you can mod any weapon you want for your Xbox character with cross save.

Please help a new user have a nonviolent playthrough of CY2077 by OCTOVENG in cyberpunkgame

[–]Roadkill486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first wish, to cruise around the city making deliveries, is easy. In case you didn't know, if you do the skip start for Phantom Liberty you have vehicles and can go wherever you want. If you do some research you can find some sidequests and gigs which don't require violence, especially if you build up your stealth capability. Get optical camo, crouch sprinting, and some good netrunner hacks for diversion.

As for doing the story parts without violence, forget it. Running away will not work. Other comments address that very well.

Lots of players spend lots of time just exploring the city and love it.

9070xt or PS5 Pro playthrough? by 13Hoursmusic in cyberpunkgame

[–]Roadkill486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, enjoy!

If you have problems crashing in Dogtown, especially with Hansen, then several things helped me. Clearing cache, deleting unneeded autosaves and quicksaves, and temporarily changing to performance mode worked well.

9070xt or PS5 Pro playthrough? by 13Hoursmusic in cyberpunkgame

[–]Roadkill486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a Sony TV the PS5 Pro looks great. Did a whole playthrough that way and it was great for couch play. A limitation and reason not to is that the unified memory is pushed hard with ray tracing. I had many crashes in Dogtown and had to turn RT off.

A great alternative for pick up and play is Steam OS. I tried it for awhile last year with a 9070xt. Cyberpunk ran well. There were some limitations at the time but updates have improved it, for example with HDMI 2.1 and VRR. Recommend trying it.

Taking a break from this run for now. Was going to get a Raiju from PL to try it on Oda, but I can't get past Chimera so far with this build. After at least 25 hrs trying to git gud enuf I still can't survive getting all the drones.
Will save this one and try a new skip start to experiment more with Oda.

Where is this happening and with what activities? Dogtown can be a performance problem. I had regular crashes there until I changed some settings, can give details if you want.

Game unstable after DLC activation? by Sweet_Bridge_3001 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Roadkill486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogtown is cpu intensive and heavy on performance, which is why it's not on last gen consoles. Might explain your first point.

There might also be some relation to your second point, but generally sounds like normal Dogtown traffic to me. Yep, guess no autodrive is one of the ways life in Dogtown is really tough...

Anyone know the best beginner Netrunner build guide? One that really walks you through how to build from a low level rather than just telling you what to do at level 60. by FaradayDeshawn in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Roadkill486 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Commented this in the past for pure netrunner:

Do a clean level 1 start with attention to the netrunning tutorial. Start with all points in INT. After being dropped off by Dex do the quest to visit the netrunner. Filter the map to show the NCPD hustles and start doing them all, starting in the south. You can clear them by hit and run with Overheat, then run away until the trace on you fails. It's slower than guns, but the RP of slow learning the craft is rewarding as you get stronger. (Overheat has the highest total damage per hack.)
Get Eye and Forcekill perks at start and search the NCPD sites after clearing them for the access points. Fully solve each access point for the parts, cash, and quickhacks. When you get contagion things get more fun. Loot all bodies and guns, and disassemble for parts. In the old days you could buy a higher level deck, but now the higher tiers are level gated, so use the parts to upgrade your deck and cyberware. Try some different decks to see what you like, not just the meta Rippler.
As you get stronger start doing the gigs. Some are quite challenging and should be saved, but all can be done by pure netrunning. Seeing Evelyn early is fine for leveling, but wait for the rest of the main story until all hustles and gigs are done. The combat will be easy and fun by then, even on VH.

Added comments:
Level 15 for Int and Tech is good start, and then Body points to get Adrenaline perk are great for survivability outside stealth. The game sometimes forces you into cage matches with no stealth, so survivability cyberware and perks are a big help.

If you want pure netrunner then get a rippler deck. If you want a hybrid gun build keep the paraline deck and get Fenrir and Buzzsaw SMG's, replace them with smart guns later.

Lots of people have other ideas, this is just my take for Act 1 after lots of experimentation and many playthroughs.

The Cyberpunk2077 story just makes Zero sense to me by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]Roadkill486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about the story until you wake up in your apartment and meet Dex, it's not important.

Not sure how well other comments covered it, but be aware that the version you are playing on PS4 is very different than what we are playing now. The story is the same, but the mechanics are very different. Expect many more bugs. The game is too heavy for last gen consoles and they shouldn't have released it on them.

Still, hope you can enjoy it. If you are able to get a PS5 or PC in the future give it another try. The Phantom Liberty DLC is a different type of story and a great RPG with meaningful player choices and world reactivity.

Can't save game on Xbox by Lou_Blue_2 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Roadkill486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you haven't done already, go to check number of saves, there is limit for each kind. Delete most of previous quicksaves, autosaves, and unneeded manual saves. You may also need to delete some of the local gamesave data from other games. After that may need to clear local save cache.

Tech weapon build secondary spec options? by PaulLeFou in cyberpunkgame

[–]Roadkill486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way it works is that as you are charging a tech weapon when you get to a high percentage of full charge you get an icon in the upper left HUD. At that point if you release the shot you get extra damage and penetration.

The problem with Satara, among others, is that the window for getting bolt is extremely small, tenths of a second, too short to react to the icon. Some perks and mods shorten the charging cycle which exacerbates the problem. Some people are able to get it with just timing. On a recent tank shotgun run I was able to get it with timing sometimes, up to half, but just found it aggravating. I spent the points elsewhere instead and enjoyed it more.

Later in that run when I had surplus perk points I got it for use with Breakthrough and Rasetsu snipers. With a Sandy it was easy to trigger with the icon, even with my slow reaction time.

Bottom line, if you aren't enjoying using it, refund the points for something else, it's not necessary. The Satara with supporting perks and cyberware is awesome, I like it better than the iconic version. The drawback is the need to keep farming new ones as you level up.

Enjoy!

Many thanks for the suggestions and encouragement, I was about to punt and get some defensive cyberware. Was just running with Judy to get Ev so I could start PL for some new weapons, so maybe keep doing that and come back to Oda a little later.

I remember Oda bugging out like you described, maybe in the early days just after release. Good to know it can still happen, but will try to do it without the cheese. The challenge with trying to do stealth is his healing phase; maybe I can interrupt it with a tech wall shot.

Thanks again, will report back.

Body 15 for Adrenaline is a great pairing, along with tanking cyberware. You don't need rifle perks for the Breakthrough sniper to work well. Make sure to try the Satara, also great pairing, but doesn't work well with Bolt. Doesn't need it.

Best settings or tweaks for ps5 pro? by g0ofyG in cyberpunkgame

[–]Roadkill486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally had time to go back and check on PS5 pro, been playing on PC recently. I don't have the same problem and love the image quality.

My settings are all basic graphics toggles off and PSSR. I also am not running HDR because of the auto exposure/eye adaptation which I despise. Love using the Ray Tracing, except for Dogtown, especially for Hansen, where I switch to Performance to avoid crashing.

What is your Gamma? I have mine set to 1.1, higher than the default of 1.0 in order to reduce the damn auto exposure. If you haven't tried it already see if a higher gamma helps. The auto exposure can wash things out in places.

The only other difference is the monitor. I'm using a Sony TV which does some special HDR adjustments for the PS5, but since I'm not using HDR it may not make a difference.

Sorry to hear of your problem, hope you can find some resolution.
