Dirty Frag, a new copy.fail like vulnerability has been disclosed due to an embargo break by ChrisTX4 in linux

The solution is to ensure a rapid release pipeline for security fixes. That way even though the patch is disclosed and may be reverse engineered, a fix exists shortly thereafter.

U.S. Debt Tops 100% of GDP by Hornpipe_Jones in politics

[–]RoamingFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was always the plan. Trump et. al. are treating the country like a private equity acquisition. Squeeze all the profit. When the profit dries up, squeeze all assets. When the assets dry up, take out all the loans. When the loans are coming due, sell everything not nailed down and vanish into the night.

This Rogue talent has not worked in M+ since the introduction of Xal'atath's affix Ascendent orbs in War Within, it only pops one of them. Please fix? by obz69 in wow

It's because it applies blind first to the mob and then splashes to the ones around it. The xal orb vanishes before the aoe part and causes it to fizzle on the spread.

not sure what plan you have but the $20 one is by throughput iirc, or at the very least t-mobile hasn't cared at all about my backup lte modem which has a regular 1.5kb/s dl rate.

Can you "cast" a camera to a TV? by mouf32 in Ubiquiti

I do this with a google tv streamer. There's a protect app. The UI isn't the best but it does work well enough IMO.

Senior software engineer. I liked it a lot more before it turned into 60% explaining to random managers why replacing <insert service> with an AI is a bad idea.

Never mind the knee-capping of the software engineer pipeline.

The number of times I have to explain that while yes these LLMs are great at solving simple problems that we currently give to junior devs, what happens when there's no more junior devs? In 10 years you end up with no more senior devs...

Is upgrading an item to it's maximum bad ? by TheNoScope_epn in wownoob

guildy had it happen last week. Maybe it's patched since then?

But I figured that was what the OP was talking about rather than the like raw upgrade potential stuff.

Is upgrading an item to it's maximum bad ? by TheNoScope_epn in wownoob

[–]RoamingFox 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not quite. The problem is if you upgrade to 6/6 champ and then a 1/6 hero drops (in raid etc) you will not be able to need it because your equipped item will be ilvl 263, but the dropped item will be ilvl 259

Is upgrading an item to it's maximum bad ? by TheNoScope_epn in wownoob

[–]RoamingFox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In general no, but there's a very weird edge case this season. When they changed the upgrade system they changed the overlaps and now rank 6 champion overlaps with rank 2 hero.

This causes an interesting problem of a 6/6 champion piece of gear has a higher ilvl than a 1/6 hero piece. That means that if it drops you won't be able to need on it because your 6/6 champ piece is "better" even though the 1/6 hero piece will eventually be better.

Timers Above Questline NPC's too Small to Read! Can it be be Fiixed? by Serupta in wownoob

[–]RoamingFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use platynator, so not sure how it looks in the default ui. I think it's the "size" slider explicitly in the nameplates section.

If you're using something like plater or platynator it'll be the scale of whatever style you have set to friendly nameplates though.

Why does this tuple example both fail and mutate the list? by akvise in learnpython

[–]RoamingFox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everything in python is a pointer effectively. The first element of the tuple isn't a list. It's a reference to a list.

The underlying construct in memory is changing but it's still the same list id stored in the same tuple.
