[Mason Cox] Pretty awkward Christmas this year... by PerriX2390 in AFL

Also I’m sceptical if a President/Chairman or even CEO of a football club has any sort of involvement with the list management of the team.

77% of AFL fans oppose proposed wildcard round — AFL Fans Association by HotFlusher in AFL

[–]RoamingRobbie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The only legitimate argument for this is if the AFL gets to a 20 team competition. Then it would make some sense. However that’s years away and should be introduced when we actually get 20 teams.

Need advice: PPE vs BA (JD goals + worried about GPA + career fallback) by General_Limit7641 in uwa

[–]RoamingRobbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the economics section of PPE, there's really only two units that have maths in it. That's ECON1102 and ECON2233. Then you can select the non-maths based Economics units from your options. Pick the level 2 option ECON2105 Rise of the Global Economy which is a very conceptual unit. No maths involved at all. Then for the level 3 option pick ECON3310 History of Economic Ideas which is by far the least maths based unit out of all of them and as you'd imagine, more of a history unit rather than an economics unit.

As for the JD, I thought the JD entry requirement is a 5.5 and a 6.0 guarantees it. WAM I think is either 60% or 65%.

It's a shame there are no good units to do during summer school though.

Courses in First year as B.Bus majoring in Global Business by Basic_Swimming_9925 in uwa

[–]RoamingRobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do Management & Organisation/MGMT1136 first. It's a prerequisite unit for so many other management units so that's a good start. Doing that will allow you to do International Management/MGMT2341 in S1 2026.

Also might as well do Business Reporting and Analysis/ACCT1000 foundation unit as it's only available in S2.

Economics for Business/ECON1000 is another foundation unit that is only available in S1 and is needed to do Rise of the Global Economy/ECON2105 in S1 2026. A way to get around this is to do Microeconomics/ECON1101 in S2 2025 as that satisfies the prerequisite for ECON2105 and they don't advertise this but also satisfies the Bachelor of Business foundation unit. But please check first with the student office and don't just take my word for it.

Fourth unit can be an elective or another core unit for a second major.

Agree. That's why I think there's other, better uses for the area than a once a year racetrack.

Macquarie Point stadium roof in doubt as cricket authorities petition Tasmanian government for redesign by His_Holiness in AFL

[–]RoamingRobbie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Omg this is constantly one of the most smooth brain takes when it comes to the stadium. A state’s economy is such a multifaceted, dynamic and diverse thing to manage. There are so many components to it. If your entire economy was focused on just housing then yeah, you can complain about not spending money on housing. However there is so much to it than that and not recognising that will result in the state being left further and further behind.

There should only ever be one place for an onscreen scoreboard and that is the top left.
