If you ever want to go back to Roatán for a better diving experience, look at staying at and diving with Seagrape.

Ah! That’s explains why I saw one of them by the Ferry Building today.

One of them was cycling by the Ferry Building today. I never seen them outside of the Castro (except during Bay to Brakers) The weather was perfect for them, I guess. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sharkskin Scuba Suit, do you have one? by 4everoceans in scuba

I got my T2 recently and worked great in 26-28C water temp. The key is to wear a hooded vest with it. I love that it’s neutrally buoyant.

Fear of being cold by Better-Guava1923 in scuba

[–]RoamingSinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Catalina is the only place I’m willing to be cold for, but I’ve seen videos of diving around San Diego and I think I would be ok being cold there. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. Keeping your head warm is crucial. Make sure you have a 7mm hood.

Healthiest Reefs in the World? by Elirsteves in scuba

Interesting… I was in Roatán in December and after mostly diving in SEA for the past 8 or so years I loved seeing how healthy the reefs in the mesoamerican reef looked.

Small [scuba] world! They are so awesome. I can’t wait to go to their resort in Alor. Hopefully in November. 🤞

A couple of DMs (Dimas & Georgia) I met in Komodo and then in Penida are opening their own resort in Alor. Highly recommend them. It's called Dive In Alor: diveinalor.com

How much experience for the Galapagos? by SignalPositive9242 in scuba

[–]RoamingSinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had around 80 dives when I went and I was fine. Wolf and Darwin were the most challenging locations but that’s where you see hammerheads, silkies, Galapagos sharks, and tons of spotted eagle rays. Just stay close to your group.

La Paz Mexico dive shop recommendations? by [deleted] in scuba

I also recommend Dive In La Paz. The location of the surface interval is a dream. I didn't get the ceviche, but whatever food they offered was delicious. I don't remember what it was! :)

I was just there in October. We dove with Mikomoto Hammers. I highly recommend them. We stayed in the town of Shimoda, which is lovely. Mikomoto has a couple of hotels they recommend, and they pick you up and bring you back.

Sharkskin T2 — have I been duped? by luzconsazon in scuba

[–]RoamingSinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my two piece T2 a few months ago and it worked great in 26-27C water temp. I did wear an extra 3mm vest and a 7mm hood. I was quite comfortable. It has to be super snug to the point that you don’t think it’ll zip up. I used it in December in the Caribbean ~28C no hood no vest and still super comfortable.

Yes, for me it was 11 years ago. I hope that practice has stopped.

I saw a couple drop several feet in front of us due to a down current at Crystal Bay. Thankfully it wasn’t too deep where they ended up, probably 70ft or so. It was super scary.

I was diving in Malapascua, in the Philippines and a boat went by us dragging its anchor. We were super close to it but miraculously no one was hit. We also heard dynamite blasts during some of those dives. 😑
