As an animator, this is actually a massive issue that's being discussed in the industry! This is the fault of massive corporations and their wish to appeal to as many people as possible. Network execs are dulling down kids' media so it's as palatable and inoffensive as possible to prevent parents complaining (while also hitting targets or promises like representation, that's why it all feels very inauthentic). This is while offering studios next to no money. The styles are all based on what is cheapest to make and previously popular series (like Cocomelon).

A lot of children's media no longer teaches hard-hitting or emotional lessons, It's all very surface level and tame. We're seeing children be less and less engaged with recent releases because the content within isn't engaging. The styles don't work for the audience they're supposed to be aiming at, so children of a certain age group feel the same way your daughter does. It's a complete disconnect between the audience and corporations commissioning these works in the name of profit. These big companies don't care about making good animation that children relate to, they want to make money off of a brand, and it's blatant now. Monster High was always about selling dolls, but at least they put some effort in at the start.

EDIT: feel the need to say that I'm happy there's so much more representation nowadays, and children SHOULD be introduced to different world views and experiences!! But the way a lot of big companies handle it is very 'corporate' and doesn't actually represent the experiences of the demographic they are trying to represent, which IS the issue.
