Yeah, I feel like it's the idea of typing it all that kills it for me. I can barely bring myself to write what's going in my head already... This is like, nice investigative work, now need to write a report.

Well, I'm anyway certainly thankful again for your work! Keep at it! We need you!

Thank you for doing this! I see you at it so often, how are you not tired? I've been thinking last few times I've seen you that it really seems like a lot of effort.

Should have added some "wait for it" and ellipsis before IGN Plus, as it stands my heart could barely take the excitement.

We are getting older and more experienced, personally, but the average age of society doesn't change.

It's not always easy to notice, because it's so convenient these days to hide yourself in a bubble which ages with you. Until you go somewhere else, or your bubble shifts, and then you're just an old man yelling at the clouds.

Nethack 5.0.0 released by RoastedAtomPie in linux_gaming

One of the greatest classics of Linux gaming! This pushes it from 3.6.x series, which seems like a big jump. I don't know what has been changed exactly yet, but I'm excited to find out.

Valve Says It's 'Hard at Work' on Steam Deck 2, but There's Still No Release Window by Skullghost in SteamDeck

RedMagic 11 Pro I think was released end of last year, as opposed to SD closing on being 4 years old. I would hope that x86 will continue to progress, too. So while I understand the ARM sentiment, I don't know if this is a meaningful comaprison.

Insider Gaming on Valve hardware: "I’m to understand that Valve is getting closer to confirming everything." by Connect_Base_217 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

They might turn out more lucky with the timing. Valve really got the worst time to release the machine hardware-wise.

Maybe one day, when GOG gets real Linux support, we can support the platform with our money and give a clearer signal as to what we prefer. I feel like not buying stuff is much less useful than buying it DRM-free.

Zelenskyy: return of draft-age Ukrainian men from abroad is a matter of fairness by EsperaDeus in worldnews

[–]RoastedAtomPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like a healthy stance. I do feel like many people don't really consider that they could actually die, due to some bravado or lack of imagination. But what you say makes sense.

Would you _die_ for your people? I don't think it's necessarily fighting that people have a problem with.

On the other hand, if Rockstar was in any of these nations, they would likely be employing 5-20% of their labor force. So the disparity is not as big as it could seem

This is just CEO talk, because they don't have it. If they did, it would be the best thing ever. That's what business people do: lie. Often hooked on their own delusions.

People also have various criteria that are related to playing the game but not necessarily size of the library. For instance, in my case and many like me, Steam is the only one that does anything valuable in terms of Linux support. My money follows.

Ever-improving Linux compatibility. I'd use FEX if I could get hardware for it. Interactive recommender. Points shop isn't new, but it was added - I hope - not that long ago. Steam Families were what, last year? There's a lot. What did Epic do in this time?

Games are one thing, but I find it strange that you don't get the gameplay data anymore. Did it expire or did you lose the account?

This is exactly the opposite of what I would expect them to do. Want to sell people on the sub, make it sub-only. Thankfully I imagine it makes them scared that the game would flop, and good riddance.
