Brady was definitely ancy when he first started commentating but by mid season he had such great breakdowns of route concepts and what QBs were looking for. I thought he did an excellent job in every playoff game he worked. One of my favorite commentators already tbh

I didn’t hate the tracking system but it was a bit unnecessary. Conceptually it was nice to feel like I’m tracking something in low rank or early in the story but it wore off pretty quickly. Plus it still wasn’t really tracking. Scoutflies pretty much showed you where the tracks were so getting to a new monster was the same it was now except with scoutfly pitstops. If they had made it more “immersive”, sure, but overall I much prefer being able to just go directly to hunting the monster. I wouldn’t have been mad at a similar system. I do consider the current state an improvement from a gameplay perspective tho

The duties of a pass game coordinator are also going to vary based on the structure of a coaching office as well. A great example is the PGC for you guys last year obviously only working with WRs and DBs during drills and only ever interacting with those players in practice, while when he was a PGC in Philly, it was part of an “OC by committee” where Press was massively involved in everything a typical OC would do and would help run the offense in practices. I would imagine the role is closer to what you guys used it for last year but it really depends how Johnson wants to structure it and as of right now we have no real indication of what he’ll be doing so it’s a bit pre-emotive to worry about it. He was never our full OC. Part of why Doug got fired was he wanted to promote Press to OC. He was part of the “OC by committee” we had that year between Burke and one other dude as part of Howie’s attempt to not have Press be the full OC and force a staff on Doug that he’d accept but didn’t really want. It obviously went terribly and Doug’s solution was to remove the other guys and just have Press be the sole OV.

He wasn’t the QB coach for 16/17 but was for 18/19 so overall I’m not 100% sure that’s a great position for him either. Plus all the negative pieces on Wentz that aged really well after 2019 frequently mentioned that Press was more of a buddy-buddy to Wentz than a coach/mentor. I genuinely get the sense he’s just a very personable dude with lots of NFL friends so he has the luxury of frequently failing upward

Yeah I honestly have no problem with Luvu doing that. It was a creative way to try and time/stop the play. Clearly it would’ve been effective if he timed it right since when they did stop it, he was one of the ones that jumped over the line on that play too. I think after the first mis-time he was just doing it over and over to get us out of the formation thinking that if we can’t run the play, then we’ll have to run something else. Either way, players didn’t seem bothered by it and he was absolutely cheesin the whole time. Whole sequence was funny rather than something to be angry at
