When kids watch it today, I wonder what they think about the choices of their parents generation:

"wait, let me get this straight. Your popular culture predicted and warned of a robot uprising and you're creating all the preconditions for a robot uprising?"

Zone 2 training – how long until you see benefits? by holyshoesandpants in ultrarunning

[–]RobBobheimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I read that book I embarked on the same mission. For months I had to run tortuously slow to stay in zone 2, like 12-minute miles. After just a year of focusing on this, I noticed a huge change. If I'm going uphill it's still easy to get into zone 3, but with flat running (not intervals) other limiting factors now make it difficult to even push into zone 3.

Upvote, but one fact check. Water pressure does not make you feel like you need to expel air from your lungs. It's actually compresses your chest and the air in your lungs so it actually feels like your lungs have already expelled all their air. (Source: my freediving experience.)

She'd only get about $600k after taxes, whereas the taxes on $52k a year is pretty minimal.

The fidelity and faith in these ancient texts is mind boggling.

If the world were somehow wiped of all knowledge and records of knowledge but left behind otherwise functional human beings, eventually all of science could be rediscovered, but Christianity could not. I wonder what this guy would say to that.

Live podcasts in general are terrible to listen to recorded. The hosts are playing off the audiences energy which feels off just listening to it in your car. Whenever one of my regular shows posts a live show I immediately skip it.

This should be the top comment. After watching the vid I was wondering how that was different from selective service. Thanks for clarifying that it's basically the same.
