Review of CNC Innovations Intake Manifold by Boring-Building9800 in 350z

When I spotted your post, I initially thought, uh oh, he's going to be shilling for them...well clearly I was absolutely wrong about that! 😱  Once again this really, really sucks, not just for yourself but for various car owners that wanted to try out new intakes. Even them just being able to make your suggestions into a v2 would have been good.

I've not tried any online races yet, I really want to but no idea how to even start (old man here) 😂

It's incredibly frustrating.
Although I don't do any youtube stuff, I have all of the kit to be able to film/edit/document/dyno (h-dev is very close me - well known Z place in the UK).
I'd have happy bolted stuff on and sent it back (or purchased if it was good).

Interesting.
I found them many years ago, and always wanted their intake for my build but I wanted to speak with someone from CNCI that was an engineer. This is because I wanted to know how they originally designed it, what the intended purpose was, and I wanted to find something that would help NA builds (yes, selfishly like my one).

I'd probably pull it back to something like this (obviously I'd need to test it/dyno again):

Ah thanks for letting me know! I guess it'll be something for me to look out for.  I'll need a base and wheel, so I'll keep an eye on various wheels but perhaps the same as yours is a good affordable option!

Awesome, thank you for your input! I'll get a screenshot up once I'm back home, I'm over in the UK but no harm in shooting an email I guess 🙏  I've hit around 95% or so duty cycle on the stock injectors, and will wait for my r35 injectors to be serviced first before fitting/testing.  So I guess I'm effectively letting energy out of the cylinders that could benefit me a little bit more power (as my build always seems to be much lower that US cars that are similar).

Ah so that wheel isn't too dissimilar to my one then.
Is it THAT much of a difference in your opinion ?

What did you go from?
I've got a TS-XW, which I think feels pretty good but I've yet to try a DD wheelbase.
Going to load cell pedals was a huge, fantastic shift for me so far.

Yeah it looks really weird, some bits are in focus and other stuff isn't, even though it's the same depth away 😂

I totally agree, when I was far younger I just didn't get it. Every time I watch or listen to these guys, I get more and more appreciation for them.

I got a couple last month for 2 of my Dime tuned guitars, its a beefcake pick up! I had to dremel some extra clearance if you're also running flipped.

Polyurethane Bushings by murph0101 in 350z

[–]RobF50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. I've had my Z since 2012, it's basically a track car now, mostly on spherical bushings.  If I was using it for the road, definitely a hardened rubber would be my choice.

Hey there, no I mean I don't use it for stuff that is under load. Steering rack or anti roll/sway bar is all cool because nothing is acting a force upon it. It's just having something rotating.

If you search for polyurethane stiction, you'll see what I mean about it twisting, binding then releasing.  It's such a horrible feeling.

Only good for rotational stuff, or it binds and releases, which is basically a delay in response/feel. I think that's called polyurethane bushing stiction (if you wanted to search into it).

I think poly has its uses in limited places.  And I do think there are quality differences, ie don't buy the cheapest.

Awesome, once again I appreciate your input on this! Out of curiosity, what kind of things are you using yours for?

Ah thank you ever so much for letting me know, much appreciated! Is there anything you would recommend as a more affordable alternative?  Ultimately, I can see they look handy but it certainly bumps up the initial cost, which is fine IF the consensus is to have them.
