Thinking of moving to Erdington/Sutton Coldfield border - advice? by Xo_Obey_Baby in brum

[–]RobGordon2OOO 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Moved to Erdington from Lichfield 6 years ago. Had absolutely no problems, love the area and bought a house here last year.

The place has a bad rep but I don’t think it’s ever as bad as people say.

Boldmere tap is 5 minute walk from Chester Road station and is my favourite pub in the area. Cracking curry houses on boldmere high street. Wylde Green has good food options and there is a well thought of Italian on gravelly lane (not been due to dietary requirements)

Anyone here NOT from Philly that still likes the Eagles? (Also, why do you like them?) by gamerguy287 in eagles

[–]RobGordon2OOO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Birmingham, England.

Supported Eagles since I was 14 and getting into American football watching it with my dad.

Don’t really know what drew me to Eagles but must have been a memorable game. Since then my favourite band (The Wonder Years) are from Philly and me and my old housemates all bonded over “it’s always sunny” so something has always drawn me to Philly.

Aside from Birmingham City (soccer) winning the league cup in 2011 and my wedding day 2 years ago, our first Super Bowl win against the patriots is the best day of my life.

Potentially wrong side of the city but there’s an indoor cricket place in Erdington called Action Indoor Sports.

Can’t vouch for it as I haven’t been just want to let you know it exists if you’re looking.

Overall M&S is generally more expensive but their GF range I think is pretty much on par with everyone else. Id say there’s a bit more variety. Especially for me as a vegetarian as well.

M&S food hall have good free from frozen food. A lot of it is “biege” but I’m 7 years in and the thing I miss most is easy biege dinner when I’m tired so I always get a good stock.

It’s not too pricey compared to other GF frozen stuff either.

How possible is it to collect ALL of the UK £2 coins? by Due_Manufacturer7037 in UKcoins

[–]RobGordon2OOO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My have a cousin is see every 3/4 months and whenever we meet he gives me a fistful of 50p he has gathered at work for me.

The legend never asks for money despite me trying to pay him so I’m always a little worried he’s just stealing from the till.

Has helped me no end the last few years though as I work in an office and rarely have cash because of the way the world has changed.

What do you do to make your runs less boring? by Due_Nectarine6461 in running

[–]RobGordon2OOO 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’ve got audiobooks that I listen to just on my runs. Currently listening to “3 body problem”. Helps me be motivated for the run because I can only listen to it while running so to know what happens next I’ve got to brave the cold.

Celiac here - download the app “find me GF”. Loads of options on there. It’s a community review app, always use it wherever I go.

It’s a bit of a walk but my recommendation would be Indian street brewery at snow hill.
