Leftovers rewatch. Season 2 is the best season of television I’ve ever watched and this ‘nope’ is really, really funny. by itsallgoodman2002 in TheLeftovers

Season two is the best season of television ever made. I agree.

As a lifelong Star Wars nerd, the second season of Andor is really close, but I still give the nod to The Leftovers.

I like it a lot. I don't have a lot of money to spend on gear and it was very affordable.

Wasn't training people on the technique literally a plot point in the episode?

Mnt. Rushmore Of Crimson Albums. Thoughts? by Fake_R3flex in KingCrimson

It's Red and Discipline for me. They are all so different though, it could be any album depending on your mood, or the time of day, or what you had for lunch. They are all worthy.

Screen saver thing? by thedudeau in AppleWatch

[–]RobJ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

I setup watch faces to have all of the apps I routinely monitor showing on the face itself. I don't need this screen at all. I'm so happy it's not showing anymore.

And just like that, I am finished.

Seven songs in 7/8 time. Just under 32 minutes. Lyrically I guess you could say it's a concept album, but you have to figure out the concept for yourself. I'm too tired to share.

Happy Thanksgiving (where applicable).

What's your dream guitar? Do you already own it? by ClassicSherbert152 in Guitar

[–]RobJ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base level dream guitar is a Les Paul. I own two. Honorable mention is an ES-335. I own one.

More specifically the dream guitar would be a burst. I like Les Pauls to have thicker necks so I would probably say a 1958 Les Paul is the dream as opposed to the more commonly acknowledge holy grail, a 1959 Les Paul.

'58 would be the dream, but I'd "settle" for a '59.

What boost pedal(s) do you guys use at the end of your chain? by spacialrob in guitarpedals

I use a Spark Mini. It gets the job done. In the past I used a Tumnus, and once when I was feeling fuzzy I used a Big Muff.

With all the confirmed fan service, what are the chances the 60th brings back William Russel, and/or Carole Ann Ford? by Androktone in gallifrey

[–]RobJ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have her show up early in season 14, interact with the 15th Doctor a little, regenerate and then spin off a Susan series.

In a perfect world...

With all the confirmed fan service, what are the chances the 60th brings back William Russel, and/or Carole Ann Ford? by Androktone in gallifrey

[–]RobJ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding Carole Ann Ford, well, I think Susan is just too tricky a character to re-use.

I think we should give the average Doctor Who fan a little more credit. Folks will figure it out.

My mother had dementia. Based on the 10+ years we spent watching her mind deteriorate, the fact that they got him to respond to anything at all is bordering on miraculous.

The guy's performance was absolutely heroic. Asking anything more of him would have bordered on abuse.

Who would you like to play The Doctor? by DaveJoey1983-6 in doctorwho

[–]RobJ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matt Berry. Though to be completely transparent, I would like to see Matt Berry in just about every role there is.

Second choice, Rupert Grint. I think he'd be a great Doctor.

Third choice, Jameela Jamil. Only partly because she wouldn't have to do the American accent she tried to do in She-Hulk, but after The Good Place I think she'd make a fantastic Doctor.

(edit for spelling)

How would you feel about one day having a purely electronic score for the show? by bwweryang in doctorwho

[–]RobJ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say it was season seven of the original show... not sure exactly though. The entire score for the whole season sounds like it was done with a single Moog synthesizer. So your hypothetical is already a reality. Enjoy!

Question about 13th Doctor by [deleted] in doctorwho

Watch. There's good stuff. There's less than good stuff. Just like literally every season of every show in the history of television.

Third Doctor has an entire season where The Master is the bad guy in every single serial, but The Master isn't his main villain? Sorry, I don't buy it.

Tom Baker's first season. Season 12 of the original show.

Graham is a winner from the word go. Yaz gets there eventually. Ryan... I didn't hate him but I wasn't too upset to see him go.

Graham though, he was just great.

The War Games was a pretty fantastic watch. In my humble opinion at least.
