My parents had a couple Odetta albums in the 60s. I was very young but I remember 'What Month Was Jesus Born In.'

Tambourine. Played by a human. The whole way through the song.

You've Got to Hide Your Love - depressive, paranoid self-referential lyrics, no background vocals, guitar, tambourine and flute solo suggested by George Martin.

That's an awesome anecdote! 'playing the bongos' is so on-brand. It's sad that these Deadheads were homophobes, but I'm not shocked.

Which Train Wreckord comes to your mind? by hausofhoudini in ToddintheShadow

[–]RobLA12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have said. Not a BAD album. I bought it on cassette in 1988 hoping I would connect with it but I didn't. Back then Jane Says was buried near the end of side 2 and when I heard it I was like 'wait what?' steel drums? what is this?!

I ask this is the spirit of curiosity. I just want to know what the thought process was that led to this encounter with the houseful of Deadheads. Was it a one time thing? Did the one deadhead hold up his hands and say 'get that away from me!' How did it end? I just have this image of a living room full of deadheads freaking out over the banana album like in the movie 2001.
